I recognise those rear light clusters. Are they from a triumph tr5 or similar?
Almost, a tr7
Damn... gotta get half a point for that surely??? Nice kit though. Looks like a little pocket rocket mate. What lump is she hiding?
I didn't want to post him on here until he was complete, but seeing as hopefully that may be this friday...i'll just be updating the thread with videos, and some more picturesque photos than my drive...
Its mini based and was a 1275gt engine, but since had a rebuild, 1310/big valves/ ported/ race cam / duplex chain/ lcb exhaust. Can't wait to see the difference it makes!
2 seconds faster to AA truck.
Nice! Just hope that lump stays reliable for you! 1275gt engines were either bulletproof or pants depending on how drunk the Austin factory worker was when assembling!!
Fingers x'd for you buddy!
Its been rebuilt though, so it'll be as good as whoever has rebuilt it.
This is very true! Haha. But you, me AND Stick all know how many of us Brits turn up to work each day with a hangover..... lol.
I'm sure it'll be fine buddy. With the work you've had done on that, it'll be like a new lump anyway!
its not the engine im worried about in the midas, its the feck off hole in the fibre glass bulkhead that's got me worried when we pulled the old lump out.
It has better tolerances now that when it left the factory! So we should be alllriiiiight
Just waiting to see what difference it makes with all the lightweight stuff porting etc, never had such a tuned engine!
Currently the dizzy has lost its spark, when it ran fine before, go figure!
Now come on, it wasn't a hole, more...a flap...It has metal plates to spread the load, and another ultimate engine steady the other side
Lets just say I am curious to see if she'll hold, lol!
He runs, he's got gears, maybe tommorrow i will get to spin it round the block
it sounds glorious lol
I promise this is the last exhaust note video...maybe;
Sounds like a nice quick revver mate!! Whats the kerbweight on those things all in? Take it the body is f/glass??
Looks a bit smokey. Sounds great though, even through a phone camera.
Yeah it was cold / it has stuff to burn off haha. Got the car home today, clutch was 'slipping' but it was just the clutch arm stop holding the clutch on slightly. A couple of twists and bang, power down
dude, i'm jealous now, don't stop driving until the tank is empty and tires are bald!
You should really hear it...in the flesh its so much more glorious, over-run popping is fun.
My 1960's odd Hornet. But it has more rust now.
