I never did understand why people do this anyway. I'm pretty certain you can get no personal details from having someone's number plate.. unless you have access to the Police PNC database. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They pulled out after the Beta fiasco, but being a pessimist they're dead now, just another brand of Fiat with no free reign to make decent cars. Look at the current Delta and tell me it's anything close to a successor to the old one.
I think the idea is to stop people cloning your numberplates really, otherwise they'll just blaze through 50 speed cameras and you'll get a fat pile of paperwork being a pain in the arse.

Yes this is the reason. But 370z's are so rare, there's not really much point as it only works if you drive an identical car.

Indeed! The very reason I don't bother with mine. If one of the other 180 owners wants to clone my plate, so be it! :D

Why I don't bother. They'd have to put my number on a Tungsten silver Mustang GT with silver stripes that happens to have a Mustang Owner's Club sticker in precisely the same place on the rear screen. Pretty unlikely. Even if they did manage that, I'd still just stuff the resulting speeding ticket in the bin and ignore it as I'd have enough proof.

2009, this was my first attempt at a car PC:

    cleaned up the install:

2010, started my first major mod, swapping from automatic to manual:

Lowered it 1.75", installed koni yellow adjustable struts and shocks:

Got new wheels, and these are stock Volvo wheels called "volans" from a 97 850R:

2011, got new seats and did over the interior:

    Winter mode:

I hit a patch of ice early one morning and bent a steelie on the curb, but once my car was on the flatbed truck, the flatbed truck itself hit a patch of ice and crashed sideways into a 18-wheeler's trailer. My car wasn't properly secured so it bounced to the side and also hit the trailer, damaging the door. Got about a grand from the insurance company and the tow truck company had to pay the deductible, so bought a new do0r in my car's color for $150 and bought some studded winter tires for the volans:

Developed my own Digital gauge cluster:

Then took it all out and rebuilt the engine!!! :p

    And how it sits now:

This is my 1969 Volvo 164 (It's going to be restored in a couple years time):

I didn't realise the Rallye was that rare! My mum's neighbors kid appeared with one which (as predicted) he destroyed in under two months and shortly afterwards another appeared along side it.

Unfortunatly I only have a daily drive car but its a nice drive, doesn't give me many issues and pretty cheap to fix up (lot of parts available still - unlike my old rover 25).

Done a reasonable job of the audio system and very little in the way of changes to the outside. Most notably tinting and clear repeaters...

These images are a little out of date. Car now has new plates on which are Black border and logo rather then blue and its got ST170 foglights.

1000 S1's and 500 S2's made, a lot of which have been eaten by rust or wrapped around a lamp-post now, thanks to a snappy lift-off chassis setup and no driver aids!

If you are talking about those new ford "volans", same name different wheels. Mine came out way back in 1997 and are 17" wheels

i didnt know ford even made a wheel called a "volan". i was talking about the volvo volans though. your volvo has the same 5x108mm bolt pattern as my ford and i love the way those wheels look!
