Nah, that's the newer designs since the abandoning of V-Brakes. It's stiffer with the "U" on the rear side.

Actually, I'm just letting the guy know.... as the cycle thread has been off the front page lately and he may not be aware.

 

It's worst for me! I hate cyclist...no offence, they get in the way, and cause chaos...

If they want to play by the road rules, then they should stop at traffic lights, not decided after cycling along the road holding everybody up, that as soon as they get to a red light, they then decided to cycle on the pavement and use the crossing...That's my 2 cents!

 

Oh you are going to hate me for this, but our road tax doesn't actually go to the roads, money for that actually comes from general taxation which cyclists do pay for.

Don't get me wrong I think they should all burn and there has been many a confrontation with a cyclist not using a cycle lane or cycling double breast in Richmond park grrrrrr!

Whether it is used for roads is not important. I pay an extra tax for the privilege of driving my motor vehicle on the roads... AND pay income tax... they don't... so they can **** off.

 

I'd like to know why motorists hate cyclists, would it be worth a new thread to discuss this, or would it decend into a PC v Mac style flame fest?

We've had that thread Cookie - it started with videos of a militant cyclist trying to name and shame people.

Let's move on from this and back to the thread subject! Not my drive, but a friend of mine's 1925 Rover 9/20. He's had it since 1959, and used it for many years as a daily drive.













Gravity-fed single tiny carb into a ~1 litre engine producing 20hp. Those little adjusters on above the steering wheel are for magneto advance and hand throttle (i.e. choke and advance). Lovely thing.

 

oh the sound that thing must produce....awesome!

The second motorists stop trying to run me off the road and actually take note of me, I'll be more courteous. Until that point, I will sit in front of them at lights and pull away as slow as I can.

 

Oh I'm sorry officer... my foot just slipped off the clutch... and he was directly in front of me, and wasn't making progress. (as my dash cam would clearly show).

 

Other people on the roads are dickholes, so I'm going to copy them! Yep, that's the way to go.

No more cycling talk in here please, too high a flame chance.
