Verra nice ride - strip tease mini - congrats!
Think any of these will make it to the real world of Colorado?
Try to get that here! I wonder if it will make the "hill" from Denver to the Eisenhower Tunnel?
scirocco, you should really drive a vw scirocco!! Especially as there is a new one coming out... (apologies if someone has made the lame gag in the thread already i cant be bothered to check)
For the mere price of $59,000... heh, for that kind of posing, I really don't care if we get any here! I do believe that they're working on actual electric MINIs, not aftermarket converted ones. Perhaps those would be in the range that ordinary earthlings could afford. Would be kind of neat to have your own wind- and/or solar-powered electricity generation to charge one up.
I've never actually been *in* a VW Scirocco, much less driven one. Think I'll stick with the MINI for now though. ;P
Its old but don't knock it.
A classic 1990 Mazda Miata
Shocking! The old ones were nothing short of spectacular, and in the metal (so to speak), the new ones look unbelievably good, and with the awesome Mk. 5 GTi underneath (and a tweaked suspension setup), it's just waiting for an R32-version.
Nice colour Scirocco, have only seen a handful in that colour over here.
Some new wheels for mine:
And his freshly cleaned older (and smaller) brother:
Very nice, both of them, alextwo! What year is the older one?
I don't know. The new mini does not do the old ones justice. I mean a mini with ought rust is not a mini... At least I think so...
It's actually not an awful lot older than the new MINI, built in 1996 so it's fuel injected and incredibly reliable.
Have to agree, I love the classic but as a daily driver I'd rather have the new MINI. For a modern car it's a great drive and I don't mind racking up the miles on it and keeping the classic just for fun.
I love those newer (but original) mini's. If I had to get one, it'd be one of those. I don't think I could cope with a classic.
Today I bought this car from batman him self shhhuuuuu
Bit of a headache when you open the bonnet though hey mate? Having owned carb minis, looking under an injection is like WTF?! There's so much crammed in there it is unbelievable!
I agree with you still on the daily driver side though....sadly haha.
Thing i love about the newer ones are the bars in the door, make me feel a little bit more safer now, so much so the girlfriend wants one for the passenger door too ( cus its soooo not fair that ive got one and she doesnt i obviously dont love her enough )
Love both the minis you have mate, you still got the turbo, cobra landy mr2(or was it a mazda?)?
Yeah, the big gouges in my hands agree with you on that one!
They do make the doors a bit heavier but it really is worth it, the MPIs also have the added benefit of a driver's airbag.
Not me mate, think that's AlexB who's got them
You two confuse me, but its cool cause you've both got minis...right right, minis make us cool...right?
I've not heard great things about the MPIs airbag system tbh, one friend slammed into a lamp post, and it didnt go off, and we're talking the car wrapped a good foot around it, the front subby bending the floorpan etc, other friend really enjoyed the 'dust like' substance that was also ejected from the airbag as it went off...
I only know how packed they are through working on a few and trying to remove a wiring loom from another, that was hard work!
Cant fault them on reliabilty, just keep the radius arms and ball joints greased the handbrake tight and oil and water topped up and it works a treat!
Here's a bit better photos of the new Mini:
Stats are: 2008 MINI Cooper (R56), 1.6L Engine (118hp/114lbft torque), 6-spd automatic, sunroof, powerfold heated mirrors, heated cloth sport seats, 15" wheels w/all season tires, headlamp washers, 10 speaker stereo
Nice ride, but better get it checked. He's bound to have thrashed the suspension. I know how Batman treats his cars...
he told me he checked it in Batmobile Company in secret place no one knows. He said he crashed it in the last movie but they fixed it. Only wrong with it is the computer he can't make it boot. I told him reinstall Vista and try to boot
This is my Ride:
Best car i have driven by far, but my last car comes very close:
I love Alfa Romeos and can't see myself driving anything else.
Argh, that Cloverleaf is a sexy beast. I'm hankering after one of those as my next ride. Lovely things.
That 147 looks nice too, is it the one with the revised interior?
Is that a Punto Sporting I spy in the background too? Another good choice.
