Pretty much as the thread title says - as I found out earlier, having an orange that just won't peel is pretty frustrating for me. Oh, and the fact that NIN are coming to a close now (read the news on the official website for more info) Also thought it would bring some sort of discussion for me to follow while at work So...to the people of 'teh tech' - what frustrates you, and how do you deal with it
- People who don't use indicators when driving! It's not optional you know, and does in fact help traffic to flow properly. - People who, when driving, seem to think it is okay to position themselves about one meter behind the car in front of them. There is such a thing as breaking distance you know. - People who don't "believe" in evolution. It is a discipline of science which has become very well documented over the last 150 years. - Misspellings, incorrect or non-existent punctuation, and bad grammar. Now I know I do not write perfectly (be it in English, Norwegian or any other language I am capable of communicating in), but I certainly try my best to do it properly. Language - it's important. - People writing in 1337-speech and/or SMS-talk. - Religion. This is 2009 after all. - Racism. There's no defending this - none at all! - Willful ignorance. - The fact that my system won't soft-boot (for some obscure and unknown reason. DFI tech-support has been ... unhelpful). Hm, I guess I could go on and on - seems like there's a lot that frustrates me, but I don't let it get the better of me. At least not usually.
Thats why man invented the brake test and the rear view mirror for the reactions that occur as soon as they see the red lights come on even if your not slowing. People driving about with fog lights on at night. People who dont let women sit down on a train, when theres no seats left, in paticular pregnant, elderly or those with babies. (Had to tell two lasses in there 20's off recently for sitting in the disabled/push chair area when a mother had to stand when she had a baby with her in a pram. Was fuming tbh) People who dont offer to help lift pushchairs on or off trains and just ignore the mother/father while they struggle (again this gets my back up) People who force there views onto others, predominantly religious views, I'm not just talking about those who have a religion but alot of "athiests" are absolute rude, vile, impolite little c**ts, who try and belittle people for there beliefs, if someones not forcing there views on you why do it to them, then you moan when they try and do it back to you. I'm not saying discussion isn't good but theres a time and a place and no need to beat people down for there views (Im an atheist btw). People who belittle the lower classes and "chavs" I've done it myself, its not big, its not clever, your a bully. The media, adults and politicians beating children down constantly, you never hear how good children are doing, only how bad they all are and how there a generation of hooligans. When they get the best exam results ever theres always "well they must be getting easier", you'd also think every young person is a criminal whos going to stab you with a hoody. Fact of the matter is children commit 12% of crimes, where as youd think they commit 90% if you watch the news. tbh it pisses me off how are they meant to feel apart of society when they get knocked down constantly by there elders cause there an easy target that cant fight back. I've got many many more points and views that annoy me but there the big ones.
Groups of children that think they are "gangsta" hanging around in groups outside of shops etc and trying to intimidate the people that actually want to be there. I guess you could file this under "Chavs" if you want a bit of generalisation. Non tech-savvy people requesting help on something technical but refusing to listen because you don't get there in the way they want and they think they can do it better. To go with this, those that talk about something technical will ALL the wrong terminology. People that use "then" in place of the word "than". People that hate the Steam platform because it used to once not be as good as it is now and they've had a bad experience. I'll informed hatred of Windows Vista "because it uses more resources". Starting to think I should have just done what Kenco_uk did.. I'll just put People.
People who suddenly stop walking whilst on busy high streets, and then look annoyed at people who have had to swerve round them. Couples and Groups of people that take up the whole pavement and procede to walk very slowly, ignoring the huge amount of people behind them trying to actually get somewhere. People on Princes street in Edinburgh asking where the Castle is. Oh and intellitext ads beacuse its not as satisfying as spewing vitriolic bile
When someone asks you a question about something and instead of admitting that they don't (or didn't as I just told them) they try to 'reel out' what you have just said and try to rephrase it. I find it so frustrating its unreal.
Having so much money that I don't know what to do with it Not having my own pair of tits to play with when I'm bored Apples that look so good but end up being not crunchy at all When I mistake pritt-stick for toothpaste Life's hard
Hang on.. what?! Are you saying that its because YOU don't have tits or that you don't have a lady friend? Surely this one allows the one above? (both options)
The Grocer's apostrophe. 'Nucular' [I can - to some extent - tolerate this in an American. In someone who counts British English as their mother tongue, it's inexcusable.] My fingers when they don't move as fast as my brain would like them to. American-ize-ations. Mushrooms in everything. ... ... High blood pressure. Nosebleeds.
Idiot drivers that overtake inches from me, that beep at me and that generally don't look. People that come to me about something (computer related or even science related) and then throw what I say out of the window. Bitching. Rahs. People repeating phrases which aren't funny (a la Little Britain). Those which are constantly moody.
