I am shopping for a case or two at the moment, above all else I look for quality of build, a good solid case. Plenty of room without buying a huge ******* that takes up the whole desk either.
I got my case for my mod for £5. It's great - nice plain case, good for modding up and perfect for my needs. It's a brand new Q-Tec. I got it for £5 from a local comp store because it had a slight amount of damage so they couldn't use it to build a pc in.
yeah, i have a Xaser 3 and couldnt be happier. tons of room, easy as anything to access the hard drives, just open the side panel and blamo, there they are, cables and everything ready for you to plug in, drives ready to be pulled out. extremely sturdy construction, good airflow, tons of room, lots of room to put stuff, did i say theres plenty of room? yes, yes i did. plus, even though it comes kinda premodded, there are still tons of things that i can/have/will do to it. Expandability (bays, internal) Construction material and quality Size (SFF, mid or full tower) Brand, Make, Model of Case Cooling options, 80 mm vs 120 mm, number of fans, WCing Other - Able to change into BTX in the future I just ordered the Coolermaster Stacker. Not very likely to mod it, but it's going to do what I want it to. http://www.systemcooling.com/cm_stacker-01.html http://www.cluboverclocker.com/reviews/cases/coolermaster/cmstacker/ http://www.atruereview.com/cm_stacker/index.php http://www.rage3d.com/content/reviews/cases/cmstacker/
I want it like some Lego Super-Duplo bricks. They should come in a few sizes and each holds one or two bays for CD, HD etc. A few real big ones hold the MB. That way I can reconfigure it any way I like. I have no idea yet how to do the wiring. Each brick with its own little Diesel generator and wireless communication? Would this be too childish?
Definitely the modability of the case in question...After all, it took me a while to decide that I wanted a PC-60 (high modability) to throw a phase-change system inside (check the sig). It's a tight fit, but I consider any case I choose, on if I can make it better in any way. This is what I call modability.
modabillity. If a case looks bad, mod it. if nothing fits, mod it. if it's too big... it can never be too big.
cooling options because an horrible case can be wondeful with a little work, but if the cooling options are bad.....the case is not useful
