    actually, according to wiccan docs, pentagram is pointing down, pentacle is pointing up. Pentagram is most of the time breaking the circle as well... anyways...

    yeah shopping in Ross is fun, couldnt stop laughing at the image

    The point is that the pentagram in all variations is substantially older than Wicca. Wicca was formed in the 60's by Gardener.
    Far be it from me to judge a system based on date of "birth" alone, but let's see what other beliefs came to being around that time: Scientology and LaVeyan Satanism, for starters...
    General rule of thumb i follow (as it has been done for millennia):
    5 points: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Spirit.
    5th point indicates where YOU believe that the human spirit falls in relative to the 4 elements
