Hi People.........Australia is experiencing horrific petrol prices at the pump....... don't know the 'exchange rate' to gallons, but our costs are $1.20 a litre.

It hurts the family budget hard and we are allowed pizza only one night a week!

.......... WHERE do I find facts about this subject?......

    ………WHO? publishes their mpg's on a site?

……….WHAT does it cost to fill up your car (name/model /cylinders) compared to last year?

…….HOW BAD does it hurt the family budget? – will you have to holiday closer to home?”

    Tah very much,

    Wahlee from Seed Knee.

Are gas prices have been high here, been 2.12 cents here for a gallon today, and I believe in some places of california they are up to like 2.30 for gas.

82.9p per litre for me. And as an 18 year old with a thirsty (ex-)mini that hurts!

Doesnt really affect the family budget though, and we're driving to Holland for two seperate weeks in the summer.

Diesel is cheaper on the continent though, so that helps.

89p per litre last time I went to the pump. So glad my car does decent mileage, I tend to bum lifts as much as possible these days.

I don't; I always manage to get the car back home before it runs out of petrol then avoid driving it until someone fills it up ;)

Remember that an American gallon is smaller than an English gallon :p

    4.54 litres = 1 English gallon
    3.78 litres = 1 American gallon

And I can get 82.9 pence per litre just up the road.

Yeah, cowboys really only wore 8 gallon hats ;)

I'm lucky, I can drive from the UK to a foreign country (the Republic of Ireland) and get my diesel for 20p cheaper a litre.

I am currently paying 4 Dirhams per US gallon. 4/3.65= $1.095 per US gallon. 1.095/3.78=$0.289 per liter. But then again I do live in a oil producing country where the government subisdises a healthy portion of all energy costs.

BTW Emzay is a she and she drives a mini cooper IIRC.

81.9p a litre in East London is the cheapest I've seen but about 84.9p on average. But our fuel is heavily taxed.

When I went out to Oman last February, the price was equivalent to 19p/ltr and the truck did a 900 km journey with two fuel stops.

:D I used to live out in Oman (Beautiful country, used to be mainly in Muscat and a bit in Salalah)

The petrol price there is crazy, and 19p a litre sounds like its gone up since I last was there yet again its an arab state and has some oil deposits of its own IIRC..

My car is getting converted to LPG soon.

Petrol prices are getting very silly.
