about these http://www.focal-jmlab.fr/gb/car/utopia/5ws.htm see the plan im thinking of is to have 2 diamond audio subs int he boot for all teh low down really gut wrenchingly stuff i listen to & 3 of these mounted to be firign into the passenger footwell so i get a really really tight snappy bass other styles of music prefer not gonna run them at the same time obviousely or would it really nto be woth it with a pair of diamond audio cm312d4's poundign away int he boot
Personaly I would say it is not worth have two sub installs. Surly a decent set of comps in your pug with plenty of power will sound great down to 70 hz mabye even lower. Then the diamonds will pick up from there.
yea but the problem is all of the pug installs ive heared have alwasy had problems gettign the bass intot he frotn of the car, so redesign one of these in the passenger footwell firign up, 2 diamond audio subs in the boot, the 5 inch driver running faded so it fills in during the quiter times i can see the costs of this goign up & up & up its odd that for a little car ive never heared a 306 that gets enough bass towards the front for my liking
Ok this is what you could do. Run the rear subs at on steep high pass crossover @ 50 hz and below. The run the utopia subs up front low passed between 125 and 250 you will have to experiment to see which sounds best to you, then have them high passed at 50 hz. You will need some good amplification for the utopias subs, the web say 80 watts this should be fine but as you will need power for mids and highs as well, I would look at a good 100-150 rms plus per side for very loud listening. If done correctly you car will absolutly rock!!!!!!
ah well it dont look liek i can afford the focal mini subs as even buying the head unit of of my wage this month will elave me with onle £300 to live on for a month
