    problem is: i don't have photoshop... i have paintshop though... mabye i can make something there... but thanks alot anyway! :D

    this is my standard setup... the startbar is over on the other monitor, but i didn't bother to include that one, as the contens there isn't interesting for you anyway ;) (the image gets too big aswell)

    ok.. this is for paing thop pro 8... but i guess it's pretty much the same for other versions aswell...

    first you make a new image the size you want... white background.

    then you open the effect browser...

    there you choose the add/remove niose folder... then you press add noise (should be far right)... then press modify...

    in the new window you choose uniform... and monochrome... then set it to about 60%... and press ok...

    then you open the effect browser again and choose the "blur" folder. Then choose motion blur, and press modify...

    choose the angle to 90deg. (or whatever you want it to be)... And set strength to anything over 60% (try with 80%)... press ok...

    now you should have a wery light alu color... and one edge looks a bit wierd...

    First of you just mark the area that looks good and stretch it so you get rid of the nasty edge...

    when you have done this you choose "adjust->brightness and contrast->brightness and contrast"

    there you set brightness to about -30 and contrast to about -20... press ok and volà!

    well, i just got a new laptop for graduation :rock: and i haven't had much time to play with it yet (only had it for 2 days, so.....) but i also just got my lip (re)pierced, so i'm in a bod-mod mood:

    the desktop (icons, etc.) are exactly how the pc came. the wallpaper is one i found and edited to give her blue eyes (the laptop has lots of backlit blue keys and all, so blue's going to be worked into the theme)

    i decided to give it a go with some less hashed together skinning. half way through a samurize bar, i'm currently adding winamp buttons and msn offline/online contacts to it. the rose is boring i know, but until the duallie has finished rendering all my 2048x768 and 3200x1200 bryce abstracts im gonna leave it.

    My guess is an HP.
    What kinda lappy? I wanna get one for typing on and stuff. Though I will be takin whatever os they stick on and hopefully get slacky or Knoppix or similar on it.
    And whadya pay.. ok.. well, whad your parents/whoever pay?. Not sure I want to spend over 1.5k.

    you sir, are correct - it's an HP (a pavilion ze5730us to be exact). i'm mainly going to use it for taking notes, etc. in college next year, so it's plenty powerful enough for my taste. my parents said that they paid around $900 for it, though i'm not sure if that's before or after the rebate they got.
    i'm also going to use it to help me learn linux - gonna give gentoo a try (i've had my eye on it for a while now)
