Small Form Factor What form factors are the shuttle motherboards?

    Considering buying a shuttle case to mod.. but dont want to pay out for the motherboard etc...

    so do they use a particular form factor.. or anyone know what other motherboards are likely to fit? :thumb:

    if you look at the spec, sheets
    for the cases, it will tell you what
    each model will support.

    no other mobos will fit they all use bespoke mobos

    As mentioned earlier, they use proprietary boards of their own design. However, I read they plan to make replacement boards in the near future to fit their existing cases.

    No, it isn't Flex-ATX. F-ATX has three slots, Shuttle Form Factor has two, except for some of their older, smaller ones that only had one. If anything, it's closest to AMD's new DTX standard, but I have yet to see any DTX boards offered for sale.

    I believe it is known as flex-ATX, perhaps there are other variants of Flex-ATX from other manufacturers.

    You certainly used to be able to buy Shuttle mainboards from places, not sure you can any more though.

    Flex-ATX, Micro-ATX, ATX only referes to the physical dimensions length x Width and the placement of the mounting holes along with the accepted location and positioning of the back panel conectors, keyboard etc.
