Hello. I simply cannot decide which GFX card to get? Right now i use on board video.. lol ! My setup is: 2500k ~ 4.2GHz 16GB ram 1200 PSU 24' inch monitor ~1900x1200 I want to play ALL my games in 1900x1200 with everything on max - Crysis 3! So what GFX should I get you think? I'm thinking about getting the 7970 but I simply don't know if I will be able to run Crysis 3 with everything on max and still have a +40-50 FPS? I'm also afraid if I get the 7970 or 670, I won't be able to run the NEW games coming during the year with all the eye candy on, hence why I should perhaps just go all in and get the Titan? .. Oh and yeah.. I use 1 monitor only So what do you guys think I should get in order to run all games in 1900x1200 with everything on max (all eye candy on) ?? Thanks
At 19x12 you don't need a Titan, or a 7970 (really) If Crysis 3 is your main squeeze, buy a 670 - some kind of Superclock or F T W edition
Fact. Definitely no need for a Titan, and you can wind a 7950 to 7970 clocks really easily. If you're a Green team fan, then a 670 on 680 PCB (like the EVGA 670 f.t.w. is a great option too!
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-3-performance-benchmark-gaming,3451-6.html if you've got the money, titan! doesn't look like any other single card setup will get you as close to a smooth experience
Going SLI / CF is not an option. Don't want to have 2 GFX cards. They consume a lot of power and the noise from those 2.. No thank you! Should I get the Titan and be able to play all games for the next year and half on everything on max or go for 7970 which would be the cheap card? Hmmm...
In terms of price/performance you would be insane to get the Titan. If you've got money to waste, by all means get it, but the 7970 will do you just fine and is only around £300.
It has come down to 7970 vs Titan now. Would Titan be totally stupid to buy when I only use 1 monitor and play in resolution 1900x1200? - Remember i want to be able to play all the newest games coming this year on this resolution and with ALL eye candy on MAX! I'm absolutely sure the 7970 won't be able to meet my wishes
Well - it's a bloody expensive card, so I'd probably think twice about buying one - but, if money is no object, it's the single fastest card going at the moment.
Fastest single card is Titan. If you want total future proof and all the eye candy cranked to the max then Titan is the one at the moment. I have a EVGA 670 F.T.W (670 on 680 PCB and factory overclocked) and it is an amazing performing card. I haven't bought Crysis 3 yet so can't comment on how it'll perform in that game. Playing at 2048x1152 and it runs BF3 on the highest preset perfectly
my 1200w PSU I got "free" from my dealer since my old 800w died suddenly. The main reason why I don't wanna go SLI / CF is because of 2 things: 1) The NOISE of 2 GFX cards during load will be extremely loud? 2) The power consumption will be twice as high as if I were only using 1 gfx card, doh Higher electric bill :/ 3) Never tried it before so.. heh.
Well - if they're decent cards with decent coolers then the noise won't be huge - I can't really hear my dual-x 7950 under full load in Crysis 3 (and I'm obsessed with silent PCs), and with the current gen of cards, power consumption is less of a concern...
Might be a stupid question now but.. Why wouldn't a Titan be a good choice for me since I only use 1 monitor? As far as I understand, the Titan / 690 seems equal, while it seems that the Titan should be better in time with proper drivers and not just beta drivers. That being said, the titan should be able to run all new games the upcoming year and ahead, right? - All I want is to be able to run them on 1920x1200 on max / ultra spec with all eye candy on. And no SLI / CF for me.
If you're able to buy a Titan in the first place you should not even be thinking about power consumption. Unless, perhaps, if you play Games 24/7/365. And have you even looked at youtube reviews? The current gen of gpu's is very silent, even in multi-sli setups. Considering your concerns are somewhat missing the point, I'd say get a 670 OC or 680. Plenty for now and if it's not enough by next year, just add a second one.
If you have the money and PC gaming is your hobby, might as well get a TITAN. If it is really stretching your budget and you want better value for money; get a cheaper high end card like the 7970, with a good cooler.
there's nothing wrong with a titan for a single monitor if you absolutely won't go multi gpu (i don't blame you), then the best performance possible is with a titan
Your worried about your electric bill while considering a £900 card?? You listed 3 points btw It might be better to get a cheaper card and put the rest into something else, like a new monitor or 2. 2 more 24" would be nice as would a nice 30"+ one
If I was flush enough I'd just buy the titan... Water cool it and consider a 2nd. But I don't know why u wouldn't be considering a larger res and a titan if there is no objection to spending money. Why stay at the current res?
Titan is money no object happy land card. in the real world a 670 680 7970 would be enough for a while to come.
