i think the nvidia 8800xxx series must be the most popular selling graphics card since they released the 6800xx series.

I remember getting my 6800GT AGP and it was the nuts, with doom 3 (most boaring game ever) and HL:2

now i use a 8800GTS that really performs well, and well i do like the ATI X700 bolted in my lappy which has its own memory of 64mb, dont knock it thats pleanty for the res and GPU.

A pair of BFG 8800 GTX OC cards fitted with full-cover DD waterblocks and BIOS clocked to the speeds of the BFG 8800 GTX OC WCE (650/2000 vs original 600/1800 vs stock 575/1800) :D

you're one of the few 2900XT owners here. I knew nVidia had been dominating easily for over a year but I thought more people would own a 2900XT. It's not THAT bad , is it ? I know it's not cheap for what it has to offer, but still... there are usually a lot of ATI fanboy that wouldn't switch to nVidia for anything

Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 - actually not installed at the moment, was powering TripleHead2Go.
Nvidia 7950 GX2 - powering the jumbotron - someday to be replaced with 2 8800 GTs or 2 3870s since I think those now support the TH2G.
Radeon 1250 (integrated) - on Vista HTPC

No, it's not that bad. I would guess that the minifridge in the room puts out more heat than my video card does. If I was gaming 24/7, that might be different, but as it is, I don't notice it.

Performance-wise, it does what I want. I can run UT3 at desktop resolution (1680x1050) at high settings smoothly. And yes, I am an AMD/ATI fan. I didn't want an Intel CPU, and I didn't want an nVidia chipset (V-1000s and heatpipe coolers don't get along well), and I definitely didn't want to run a video card and chipset from different manufacturers. Thus, AMD/AMD/AMD all the way through.

Would be using 8800GT by now, if only they existed! Impossible ATM to get my hands on one of those.
