i think the worst i have ever done is blowing up my x800 the day after i had it watercooled, still not too sure how i did it. Stuch the stock cooler back on it and theyre fixing it under warranty now i have also fried my old gigibyte p4 mobo, my old geforce 2, a nu,ber of monitors and my favourite was one of the computers in my schools library, i overclocked it as far as the bios would let me and just walked off. fried the mobo, cpu and all attached cards.
Warning: Rant ahead I really hate it when people do this. It's always little 12 year olds (no harm meant to the 12 year olds, just using it as a figure of speech) who think they're t3h oob3r 1337, so they "overclock" school computers. 1. Most school computers' motherboards aren't going to have overclocking options, so that's a load of ******** right there. 99.9% of school computers either come from educational deals with Dell, Compaq/HP, Gateway/eMachines, or Apple. These companies, of course, don't give you overclocking options. Why would they? It's just one more thing for people who don't know what they're doing to fiddle around with and screw something up. 2. What on earth would make you do this? Why on earth would you do this? Congratulations, you broke school hardware. Just more money from the taxpayers. Glad you feel cool. 3. Simply BIOS overclocking won't fry "all the cards, the mobo, and the cpu". It simply won't boot, and some underpayed computer technician will have to take the computer off the table and reset the CMOS, after he's fixed everything else all the little kiddies have done. Now, when a class or group comes down to use the computers, they're one short. So, what have you achieved here? Well, first, I think you're stories a load of ********. But that aside, people who do this are just the 31337 h4x0rz who need to get a life and a maturity level. /rant
quoted for truth. well said. to fullymad: people who act like you, people who just destroy property for the sake of being destructive, well youve got something wrong in your head. i dont really see how you can fry multiple monitors either. in fact what i hate worse than those that just destroy crap for no purpose is those that make up rediculous overexaggerated stories to try and sound better or bigger than someone else and grow their weener. people like you make me think bad thoughts
LOL at the last few posts. Right, here is what I can think of off the top of my head. 1. AMD XP 2100 (Top of the range at the time) 2. Gigabyte Motherboard old one but still i broke it 3. 2x 300w q-tec psu's 4. 200mhz laptop 5. 80gb ibm hdd (it melted ) 6. 256mb pc133 7. Unix 10mbit hub 8. Gigabyte ga7n400 pro2 (replaced by ebuyer) 9. a few random gfx cards Thats about it that i can think off, o and my most recent one a antec minuet 220w psu
I dropped a new motherboard complete with RAM, heatsink and fan (and processor) from about seven feet. Mobo was completely dead but the rest of it survived.
My most memorable would have to be the laptop I stepped on . Cracked the screen pretty good . I partsed it today .
I've only broken a headset and a harddrive (80 gb piece a ****). I feel bad for those who **** up things like X800XT grapchics cards and such Edit: SOrry for bad sensured language
Congrats, class A fool. Anyway, I've killed various things - only one thing died through temper, the rest accidental. I threw a 2GB HDD at the computer and it no longer spins up. I managed to kill a PSU and I accidentally left another PSU plugged in one night and it surged, killing mobo and CPU... fun fun fun
LOL, "grow their weener." I've never heard it out that way. I killed a True430 that cost me $100. Pissed me off a bit 'cause it was due only to my own stupidity. In conjunction with the bad PSU I fried my brand new NF7-S, but that wasn't to big a deal cause I got it from Newegg. I let a friend borrow an XP2600+ T-Bred because he was having problems with his PC. Well pretty soon my hardware wasn't working either. Upon further review after he brought it to me, he had been putting the heatsink on backwards and chipped two two cores and absolutely destroyed a third. I'm going to miss that old proc. I got it up to 2.5GHz rock stable. We went to a lot of LANs together. I was planning on putting it in an HTPC.
My friends were coming over so I chucked all the PC stuff on top of my bed (which was quite high) and then after they'd gone I went up the ladder, grabbed the PC stuff, started coming back down, then tripped up and dropped the whole thing. Landed on the carpet and then wouldn't boot.
My mouse last night I got bored with the boring old cream/ivory colour so I decided to cover it in some DPM (camo), couldnt be bothered spraying it (it was about 23:00), so I decided to cover it in DPM fabric. Cut it all out, and glued it on. Fine, evrything was going fine till I looked at it this morning, and the case has melted I have a DPM/Cream/Ivory pile of melted goop! On a plus note I have a new paper weight!
I fried a stick of ram, but miraculously not the computer I removed it from. I've also ruined a cd player by painting it, and not taping it off well enough.
I killed a 60gig Hitachi Deskstar When i got peed off will comp and thru it across the room......VERY DMB
gigabyte motherboard AMD 2000 processor pc2700 512mb ram PSU Radeon 7000 gfx card compaq laptop twice twinhead laptop
