Lets see, I have never actually broken anything of mine. But when I used to work at the local university my friend and I would smash old mobo's with ISA slots, dismantle hdd's and throw the disks at squirrels, and many many 2 mb memory modules and floppy disks were destroyed. We also reinacted the scene from Office Space with and old 50 pound lazer printer, except we used a sledge hammer. We also broke a couple of monitors becuase it was cool to see the glass break. Hmm... fun times.

Not killed anything *yet*, killed my Abit NF7-S by ****ing up the BIOS, but I managed to save the board by splashing out £15 on a new BIOS chip from Abit. :)

Have fried 2 consecutive MSI K8Neo2 Platinum boards, 1 WD Raptor 74GB drive, and 2 Aerocool AeropowerII 550watt PSU's...

Got a defective HD from the manufacturer, which backfed the PSU and fried the MB. Not knowing the HD was bad (it functioned ok in another machine on the SATA power...) the PSU was replaced first as it was th emost obivous cause of the problem and would no longer function. Upon changing it out, found the MB to be fried as well. Unfortunately the either the MB or the HD had backfed the PSU and fried it as well. Replaced the MB and the PSU consecutively, the system worked, but the HD had apparently finally fully fried out and had to get that replaced. Once it was all done... over 2 months of no computer system, the rig was running 125% (oc'd the FX-53 processor a bit lol). Still running strong!

Hi all, my first post here :D
So, i've killed only hard drives... western digital, maxtor, hitachi, seagate :(
each time for differents reasons: power supply death, one because I reversed wire on a molex for a cold cathod (so stupid i think), the most beautiful death was the western digital who was rinsed with the water of the watercooling and who made a superb white smoke.

    Sorry for my english :D

The high school I went to wouldnt let my electronics teacher throw out anything unless it was broken, he he. I wittnessed and may have been part of the destruction of 2 >20" Crt tubes, the sound is one you will never forget. It is a loud pop and a quick hiss, we, uh, they broke the nubbin on the back for saftey.

Then there were the apple external cdroms, a hammer and screwdriver do a number on those pcb's. And of course the poor poor 486's, we, uh they, overclocked those things till they would smoke, literally smoke. Did you know that an electrolytic capicitor makes a pop bigger than a m-80 when placed in 120v ac, makes me wonder what it would be like on european voltages. Ahh the good times. Uh too bad I was never there :naughty:

I killed an Epson Pro Stylus printer and HP P3 rig with my Glock 40cal. That was fun. Actually taught my girlfriend how to shoot using them as targets....

My cat killed a Sony 17" CRT (can you FN believe it cost $850 new!!!) by peeing on it.

I killed my 2 original Seagate 15K scsi drives somehow, not sure how. They wont low level format, or much else really. All done.

I'm ABOUT TO KILL (possibly) my old Tyan MPX dual MP1600 rig. I've got this sick urge to get all artsy and mount the whole mess to a corkboard on a picture frame. I figure I can then hang the whole mess on the wall. Gonna route the cabling through the hollow outer frame. Think it will blow up without a case.... casefans, etc.? Anyone know how to OC a Tyan dual MP board so that it will? I like to watch.

The HDD was ontop of my tower, plugged into my laptop on my lap. I got up with it still plugged in and it went flying onto the floor while the drive was still spinning :duh: :grr: :waah: :sigh:

Lets see the hardware i have broken hmm thats a pretty long list lets see if i can remeber it all.

    3 crt monitors
    5 HDD's
    4 higher end mobo's
About 6 486's(those things are tough but a baseball bat golf clubs and some gas and matches took care of those pretty easy LMAO)
