I have my BenQ 24" FP241WZ hooked up to an Xbox 360/PS3 and my PC running Windows Vista. I use my monitor for everyday tasks, photo editing on Photoshop CS4, playing games on both console and PC, and also like to watch high definition films too.

What would be the best way to calibrate my LCD monitor? Would a THX calibrator be appropriate for all of these purposes?

That uses Windows to load a settings profile, and as I use my monitor for consoles too it's not something that will help me much.
But thanks anyway because I've decided that the free THX Optimiser should be fine.

Are you talking about color calibration? If so, the answer is no, there is as of yet, no way to properly calibrate a monitor in hardware alone. Most, if not all, use ICC profiles.

I thought the THX Optimiser has a colour calibrator... doesn't it? I'm lost.
