    I know right?

Funny, I was looking at that earlier thinking the same thing. Especially after they are already bringing out this.

My only guess is rich kids who are using mum and dad to build a gaming PC.

Never figured the point, except for those where excess, isn't.

    So... pretty...

    *Snaps out of it*

It's a good looking mobo, yes. I'm sure it will be very good in terms of performance too. But that price is frankly ridiculous.

As much as I love things that are green, I couldn't justify that price tag.
I'd much rather take the risk of stripping apart a motherboard, paint the parts I want green and re-solder them on.

    Nah, they won't be.
There's always one or two extreme niche motherboards every now and then with a terrible price tag, they'll never have much impact on the price of your standard enthusiast boards.

The coloured parts, pci sockets and ram sockets are aways hidden when you put ram and cards in them anyway, so ive never really seen the point.

Would be best to colour parts that are seen through your side window, i mean my ud9 looks like any other ,mobo(but longer) now sockets are filled.

Im not a gamer, so ud9 suits me better than a board for the gamer, but am sure will be plenty of people will still buy this board.

I wont mind spending all this on a mobo if it was feature rich, like tv tuners, decent onboard sound, etc etc, a network card just dont do it for me.

A hefty price tag I agree....... But if you take off the cost of a Killer network card and a top end creative sound card then the price doesnt look quite as shocking if these were things you were looking to buy within your build anyway.

Well there's always the 'I've got the have the most expensive cos it's the best brigade..." and then they won't have to spend on marketing because it will generate its own WTF campaign...

I wouldn't like to be there when 'privileged child' opens daddy's latest present and it's DOA...

However, if you bought those separately, you;d be able to carry them over into the next build. And the one after that. And the one after that.

With this, you are lumbered with one set up.
