I was given this by a friend who didn't know what it was, and it just so happens that neither do I. It was bought at an auction for $1 because nobody knew what it was. What is it? [EDIT]PROJECT LOG HERE[/EDIT]
Google comes up with absolutely nothing (other then some out-dated microphones). Wireless microphone mixer? Nifty.
http://www.toa-corp.co.uk/asp/catalogue/search.asp?search=Search&q=WT That seems to be the company that makes it, and those are the new models, can't find anything about that particular one though!
Yeah, I've e-mailed the .com counter-part, but haven't gotten a response (that was two days ago). But yeah, I'm content that it's a wireless microphone mixer.
Obviously it's not just for microphones, although I suspect it might have been made with that intention- it just depends on the frequency each module is tuned to, so could be used for any wireless device really <A88>
You've hit the nail on the head: it's going to be my new server Not 100% sure if I'll do a project log (nobody seems to care anymore anyway). But yeah, I just wanted to see if it was of any use, and what exactly it did before I went and destroyed it.
that is part of a CB system! see those connectors on the back? those are to attach cb antennas with RG-58U coaxial cable!
I'm with wireless mic tuner, but do make a proj log, people do care but if you get no comments that just means you're doing it right, imo.
Well, it doesn't not turn on, but apart from that, there isn't really any feed-back that it provides (unless I hook something up to it, obvioulsy). I'll give it a try, see if I can get anything to come out the audio jack. As for a project log, yeah, maybe... We'll see. [EDIT]Didn't want to double-post, so here are the results from hooking it up again: OK, looks as though there are small red LED's above the sliders that flash when the unit is on (so, a good sign?). Otherwise, I'm getting no output on the headphones. This could mean a couple things, either: A) there is absolutely nothing broadcasting on the channels this thing is setup for (including absolutely no background noise), or B) it needs some other input. Under the LED's it does indicate what frequencies each module operates on, as you can see here. Going from left to right: 33.14MHZ; 42.89MHZ; 47.27MHZ. On the back, there are two screw type hook-ups for "DC 24V @ 0.25A" as well as an "OUTPUT UNBAL" which is rated at (left screw) 600ohms (right screw is common). Middle has what looks like an antena symbol (screws can be seen here) But, yeah, don't know.[/EDIT]
It's definitely a wireless microphone tuner. Here's a similar model with six frequencies instead of three: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7375047701&category=100230 Here's a link to a PDF showing the spec's on a similar microphone to the ones on ebay: http://www.toaelectronics.com/disc/manuals/WM-320.pdf
Awesome GMan I tried ebay, but only searched the model number... Should have searched more, heh. But yeah, cool, definitely.
Wow you're on bit-tech who cares what it does just mod it haha...I'm joking btw I think it's some kind of tuner (no ****!) but I agree that it's for microphones, unless you can ask the original manufacturer you will never know exactly.
^^ agreed^^ looks like you could make one kickass server case out of it. removeable drive bays and all.
