Snagged me a Creative Nomad Muvo 2 off eBay, it was one of those 4gig microdrive players they had harvested the drive out of. Got the player for $45, freaking cheap. I then bought a 1gig microdrive off a friend of mine for $75. And this player is awesome - excellent sound quality and battery life. Screens a little on the small side but is easily readable and functions well. Also it had all my requirements of not requiring any funny software to use it, just plug it to the USB port (USB 2.0 btw) and it shows up as a drive. Just dump MP3's to it and the player will find them on startup. You can also put anything else on the drive since it is a hard drive afterall.

I have an old skool 20gb Creative Juke Zen - the firewire version. Its been happily dishing out tunes for 4 years. Only bad thing is that the power supply conked out so I can only charge it by usb.

My MP3 player is an old P733 Compaq PC connected to a Sun disk array I had laying around......

You haven't heard MP3's until you've heard them on a Raid array :D
