So as the title says really just interested to know your Miles Per Gallon, and the car that did it. The way I do this is run the car down to no petrol, a good few miles into the light. Then fill up fully, reset the trip metre to zero. Keep driving until you are back in the light and fill up fully again. The miles you did and the amount you filled up by can be entered into here to find out your MPG, and if you put in the price of fuel it gives you a cost per mile. Would also be good to see what your car thinks you are doing in MPG, if its got that facility. Hopefully someone finds this as interesting as I do, otherwise I will look like a right sado. I will start. Nissan Micra 1.2s 2003 384 miles 36 litres (cannot remember the exact amount but it cost me £36.something @ 101.9, so I said 36 to be conservative.) 48.49mpg. Just realised my tires were a bit flat as well today, so maybe half an mpg better next tank .
1999 Mazda Protege 1.6L: 23 city 27 highway 11 gal tank Currently low due to a bad O2 sensor/cat. converter
I've measured mine a fair few times since I bought it new and it's always been pretty close. 2005 Hyundai Elantra 2L 5 spd 4dr. Gas I'm getting a steady 31 mpg in-town only use. It's got ~40,000 miles on it now and I check the tires every other day and keep them properly inflated. Regular oil changes and keep fresh filters in the oil and air. The Interstate speeds in the US are 75 mph. I've never had mine on the highway so I cannot report that mileage. john
never calculated mine and i have no idea how I could possibly do it precisely but the 'official numbers' of my Accord 2001 are 20 city and 28 highway i've had a check engine for months now however and an oil change is wayyyy overdue so i'm guessing it's much, much lower than that now ... Actually on the highway I am pretty sure that my dad's Chevrolet Avalanche 2009 (picture bellow is almost identical) consumes less than my accord
Peugeot 206 1.4 HDi Got 630 miles from an 11 gallon tank (50 litres) Thats about 57MPG. Could probably eek 700 out of the tank if it was all motorway driving. I love diesel.
2002 VW bora V5 Im only doing short trips atm sub 3miles most days, the computers reading wait for it ........ 18.9mpg 55l tank i think it gets 30ish on a long run though.
The signs say 65 where I'm from, but 75 is a bit closer to what I'm actually doing Most recent trip: 311 miles, 90% highway (road trip) 9 gallons 34.55 MPG/41.5 Imperial 2007 Ford Focus ZX5 SES pic related.
Miles per proper-gallon, or miles per American-crazy-gallon? (1 US gallon = 0.83267384 Imperial gallons FYI)
I check every time I fill because it's a company vehicle and I need to know the mileage etc for records. I'll look up more detailled records later and post exact miles per tank etc but for now: 2007 Renault Clio Dynamique 1.5 TDci £55 to fill from well into the light at the moment (place I have my fuel account @ is £1.03/ litre for diesel currently) 51.5 MPG usually. Journeys like I had to the airport the other night (in a *ahem* "hurry") drop it to about 45 or so. I can get it as low as 40 which is diabolically hard driving Need to get myself a van in the next year or so. I've been leant a van by the company that is putting up the factory I'm working in this week. Nice little VW transporter, drives nicely
2.0 Passat 140 Tdi 44 ish if I'm mainly in London 50 outside of of town Both are averages 70 litre tank which gives me a range of about 600 miles M
I have no clue what a lot of these cars are. No idea what Tdi is. I'm going to edit my post to show I use gas. Can the new posters please specify gas or Diesel? We have verra few Diesel small cars in the US. They 'are coming' john
Yeah, I went and looked it up when we started posting. ANYTHING getting 48mpg in the US only has 2 wheels. Silly old laws and lots of states that have teir own emission requirements. It's getting somewhat better but28 to 30 is considered good/acceptable to most US drivers. Too many years of 12 and 14 mpg I guess. john
2003 Hyundai Elantra VE Automatic. 31.42 MPG city only driving. Right now petrol/gasoline here is pretty cheap around 85-86 cent's per liter.
2006 Mustang GT Urban 18mpg (US) and 21mpg (imperial) constant 60mph 24mpg (US) and 28mpg (imperial) Hammering around a race track 6.9mpg (US) and 8mpg (imperial) Pretty amazing for a 4.6L V8.
2007 VW Golf GTi 2.0L 33-34 mpg = aircon on, windows up, fast pace 37-38 mpg = aircon off, windows down, casual pace
