You're more right than you know, half of all my runs have been for alcohol this year Actually while we're on bikes (and because I can't be bothered scrolling through the whole thread looking for bike entries) what kinda mpg do you get on bigger, er, real bikes? I'm kinda wary of moving onto a 600 or whatever if it means getting the same mileage as a car...
My boss has got a 600. The tank does him about 150 - 170 miles, unless he's being silly with it. I get the distinct impression from him that a really nice 250 will give you all the power you'd ever want, as he says he rarely gets into second gear, with his 600 capable of 80mph in first gear!!
What color Prius? I will have to keep my eyes open on my commute to Madison. 25mpg highway driving 2000 Caravan, 20 mpg City. 28mpg Highway (20mpg if I drive aggressive) 95 Camaro Z28 20mpg City.
My 4,7l Jeep Grand Cherokee (petrol/gas) gets around 16l/100km, that is 14,7mpg(us) or 17,7mpg(uk) we have a saying here in Norway (we beeing me and a friend ) That any car that uses less that 15l/100km is feminine.. so I'm safe... My other car (thats currently in small pieces) uses around 25l/100km, 9,4mpg(us), 11,2mpg(uk) but than again, that is a 6,5 litre V8 with a estimated 430hp.. and that one is only used for short trips in good weather..
Doesn't look French. My guess would be Japanese. Possibly Toyota? Maybe we need a 'Guess the in-car LCD' thread. Then again....maybe not.
I call Vectra, if I'm right then I need more IRL :_ Damn missed Fuzzy's reply, god I was right, help meeeeee
heh, tbh its amazing what the motor will do when you not poking the turbo with an angry stick all the time and I stop driving it like I just stole it. Compared to my C4 which I could only get just under 400 miles out of the tank (1.6 petrol) on a GOOD day!
It's a good engine based on Fiat unit, they really know how to make good diesels. A modded chip can easily boost power to over 180 bhp, as well as 20% more torque, something to think about!
I was toying with the idea of chip but there are reports Vauxhall have cottoned on and are now checking what pressure the rails been running at before any service work. I might get one for a few evenings worth of fun, but other than that I'm happy with the performance. I have eaten through a set of front tires already, only done just over 9k :/
I get 31mpg on my Maxima, if I drive it "Mad Max" style. No windows, no A/C, steady speed on flats, let the car decelerate uphill and accelerate downhill, upshift below 3k rpm. More common is about 26mph with a little bit of A/C. It's not bad for a car with a 3.0L NA V6. I just replaced the clogged PCV, and I'm planning on doing some more maintenance this weekend. Going to clear out the EGR tube, clean IACV, clean TB and IM, replace VC gaskets and spark plugs. Hopefully, that will improve it even further.
Ouch that's not so good. I'm at just under 31k and I've only had to change the fronts so far. Although mine are 225/45 R18s and cost me £140 a tyre On the topic of chipping, I'm told I can get my 170PS over 200PS and increase the torque nicely ... it's three years old in 9 months, and I won't have to care about dealer services then lol
Woot! Just got 306miles out of one just under 1 tank, guestimating ~48 litres of Diesel. What's that in UK MPG? The was a mixture of sitting at 60 with the turbo spun up (it sounds like anyway) or sitting bhind trucks at 55 with turbo not quite spun up. It's a defender so air resistance is HUUUGE
Fiat Bravo T-Jet Dynamic (110kw/206Nm). Think it's called a Bravo T-Jet 150 there... 150BHP. 1.4l Turbo Didn't have it for long yet (2 weeks or so...), so i have been monitoring: when cruising in town (i.e. slow, 60km/h, slow pullaways, etc) i hit 56MPG. Highway cruising has not been tested yet (plus, i SUCK at cruising highways... i normally put my foot down until i hit about 180km/h) When putting my foot down in town, i hit an average of 21mpg... but that's REALLY bottling it... rev counter not dropping below 4500 (redline is at 6000), and taking the turbo for all it's worth... Just waiting for my warranty to expire before i get a remap done, though... should bring power up (YAY!) and fuel consumption down... as well as evening out the power curve a bit.
You and me both ... that's the sort of MPG-age I can only dream of I can usually get around 35mpg in town driving and, if I don't drive like lunatic, around 45mpg for motorway driving. Mind you, this is a 10 year-old Clio with a 1.2l engine ... a decent enough motor, but I'm looking to upgrade to something with a bit more grunt for long-distance driving.
