Hey! Do you know what the requirements are to work security at a state pen? I know that's a weird question, but I've been contemplating moving to a town where the pen is the main means of income for most of the city... Anywho, sorry for the OT

I own a floor covering business. My employees start at $10.00 per hour. I make a little more than that. ;)

Probably defers from state to state but in Iowa you DONT need to be a certified officer so Im guessing basic physical reqt such as being able to lift so much weight etc. They will do a criminal history - they probably will allow nothing violent and will probably question anything being in there in the first place.

Where I work all they require is that you breathe and show up most of the time.

I'm a librarian, but a good deal of my job is picking up where the city IT guy leaves off. He can't be bothered to do anything to maintain the machines :wallbash:

Officially my title is Senior Analyst, Applications Programming. Basically that translates into over-worked, under-paid, soon-to-be-laid-off programmer. My skills are in Java, C++ and Smalltalk if anyone is looking to give away some money. :D
