Modding What kind of plastic is that?

    Guys, do you know what kind of plastic is that?
    I'm looking for non-shiny black plastic, kinda matt, satin black, not shiny like acrylic.

    POM (Acetal) should work :)

    Looks like Delrin to me. Easily machinable, widely available in many thicknesses and colour consistent throughout. Google Delrin. Lots of black pics.

    To be fair that component could very well be PEEK, actually it could be anything, it all depends on the tool surface finish if it was moulded, or the surface finish applied via machine tooling.

    My guess here is PEEK or POM, for your application go for POM but not the Homopolymer version, go co-polymer is a little more stable under temperature.

    On site four of my project log (signature) I have a few pics of a piece I made of POM.
    Only for comparison.
