    AM5 white build planned:-
    • Gigabyte announce their "X670E Aorus Pro X" motherboard, which will be ideal for the project, but not a peep about date & price.
    • The almost total lack of 32GB, 6000Mt/s or better, white DDR5 sticks with AMD EXPO timings built in. The only one I can find is Kingston's Fury Beast RGB.

Just saw an advert for an AI bot tailored to handle the more mundane HR tasks.

    I find that unsettling.

So the weekend has turned into a distinctly beige one. It started with a clogged bathroom sink on Friday and attempts to unblock it with random household cleaning products only blocked it further still, to the point of complete blockage. Saturday I was going to just get a couple of unblocking tools, but then I also wanted to get a price of trim to go round the edge of the sink, as it's been spewing water over the side and under the bath for far too long. Couldn't get the gloves or trim I wanted from screwfix, so went went to b&q where things escalated to a brank new sink, pipework, tap etc. While at b&q, I was abducted y aliens or got trapped in a temporary time warp, as we somehow spent 3 hours in there, most of which was when I went off alone to find gloves and trim. I can't tell you what happened, I didn't think I'd been that long, but apparently it was. What I do know is somewhere along the way I felt really off, not especially "ill", but downright rotten and tired. Mrs crap said I looked "like I'd seen death". Very peculiar. No work was done when we got home as I felt a bit faint and wobbly. Today I spelt in till about half 11 and am still tired, definitely not in the right mindset or physical strength to be undertaking anything I wanted to do this weekend. Bizarre really.

The Turkish office had an “Office Boy” back in the mid noughties . I think he was a general admin and it was poorly translated but always made me laugh.

Being picked up on applying a newly instigated policy to something I did over 7 years ago when new policy never even existed… :wallbash:

Even more annoying is the fact I’m now off for two days so won’t be able to do anything until Thursday but let it wind me up… very much a “seen to be doing” move from the admin folk here.

I’ll then spend all day Thursday explaining why they’re dumb as **** and how this makes **** all sense. We’ll eventually rectify the issue, go our separate ways in time for me to be ****ed off over the weekend because I’ve had a completely unproductive week…

    nice.

Order a power supply from Amazon. Got it delivered on 27th November and realised I don't actually need it, so requested a return. All good, posted it back the next day - didn't even open the parcel, just covered up the original label.
    Radio silence, tracking doesn't update.
It was a "Sold by SomeOtherCompany and Fulfiled by Amazon" thing, so contacted the seller on 1st Nov to chase up the return. They can't see any more info than I can and suggest contact Amazon, as Amazon provides the returns & tracking system.
Amazon tells me it probably hasn't been scanned & processed at the returns centre, tracking should update when it does.
    Radio silence, tracking doesn't update.
Power supply arrives back on my doorstep today - same unopened parcel, with the return label now covered up by an Amazon delivery label.
Byron writes a "Mr Angry from Cardiff" message to demand the goddamn refund that he's goddamn entitled to.

This after I have a shitty drive home with some utter tool tailgating me YET AGAIN and then cutting in right in front of me in order to take the same slip road I need. And after I nearly drop the bike on my other half's car because next door have parked too goddamn f---ing close to her car YET AGAIN and made it extremely difficult for me to maneuver a large and heavy 330kg bike YET AGAIN.

I'm getting a pizza tonight. Balls to cooking.

After what happened in Europe, in the first half of the 20th century, you’d think people in countries that were directly affected, like the Netherlands, would be wary of the far right. It’s beyond me why they vote the way they do.

They'll be here and back well before a government has been formed. You'll be ok.

Memory like a goldfish. This is the same guy that wants a "Nexit." like really? Because that's going soooo well for the other guys.

Water company called up saying my water consumption has been something like double or more during the last 6 months and wanted to arrange a private contractor to visit. Said I couldn't do that unless they could do Saturday visits owing to currently working away during the week. Was worried I'd fluffed my toilet repair (which I can hear dripping occasionally) but that was last year in September and I really doubt it can account for something like 100 more litres a day.

Currently keeping an eye on the meter, which is the first time I've ever looked at it since moving in back in 2015. Bit difficult though as the washing machine's on so can't get a zero reading.

Maybe the barsteward neighbours have hacked into it.

Never underestimate how much water a drip/trickle of water can be when going 24/7. 100l a day doesn't sound outside the realms of reality for a dripping/running toilet. Good news is most water companies will forgive at least 1 accidental leak from your bill but whether they consider that accidental enough to forgive is another question! If you can, isolate the toilet and see if your meter is still ticking over as that should give an idea of if there is another leak somewhere.

This article suggests figures as high as 400L per day for a "running" toilet

Just dropped my phone. Perfectly flat on it's face, onto a concrete floor, with predictable results.

    Faaaaaaark!
