In all seriousness, I have actually been looking at playback-only models. It would save on wear & tear of my NetMD writer if I just used that at home, and had a separate unit for portable purposes. Doubly convenient if it’s a model that uses the same NH-14WM “gumstick” battery, because I now have three of those.

But we’re into “belt-tightening” territory now, with a house purchase (hopefully) looming on the horizon. I’d have to shift some of the kit I’ve got here before I could justify it to myself.

 

The scissor lift at work decided to try and launch me today. The then made a high pitched screaming noise and stuck in place 1/2 extended. It smells like smoke so i removed the battery called the guy who services it and then informed the boss. It sounds expensive to repair a new one might be better!!

one of my NAS SSDs has died [well the other of the original pair, the other one i got replaced under warranty]

only this one is out of warranty... blah

...and i can't jsut buy another one as seagate no longer make/sell it... extra blah...

meh bc i've not suffered any sata loss it's it still in the 'annoyance' tier rather than the 'fml' tier

 

can i just say ID mobile... they are beyond crap... Updated the App so they make you re register as apparently transfering peoples accounts is to hard... The send you a text to verfy doest work... and when you call they wont speak to you if they cant see your online account... So calling bank tomorrow to see if they can hold the Payment that will make someone talk to me then ! for nearly 2 months at home had 0 signal so its unseable and all i get told is they share 3's network so they cant really do much... I dont pay 3 i pay ID. i am trying to find out how long i have left on this contract as im going to buy a few phone then just go with EE or Tesco with a Data unlimited Sim only thing...

 

My wife and I have been with Tesco Mobile for several years, so far no problems at all. They use O2’s network.

As soon as i can cancel them i plan to.. i think december but i cant see anywhere it lets me view how long is left on my contract. The website says it shows you but it doesnt. They are dixons carphones own thing and i only got it as when i left there a staff memeber helped get me a phone cheap. But its been crap network. 0 signal at work and at home. They tried to blame the phone till they did a test on stuff and was proven wrong. They wont comp me or even let me end early despite the fact i cannot use there network in the 2 primary locations i got it for

 

Vehicle recall for my 3 series starter motor....

Local service centre closed a while ago now so a good hour or so trip to get it replaced when they make arrangements.

 

We had a near miss with the Stellantis airbag recall, for Citroën C3 and DS3. We changed our car only a week before we received a letter about the recall and, only about two weeks before the "stop drive" order was made. Better still, the recall and stop drive, did not apply to the C3 Picasso we have now.

 

nasty issues with my legs, since august each visit to the GP meant being rushed to A&E only to be told all is fine when one look at both my legs shows other wise.

not being able to drive the car or take my motorcycle for spin is doing a mental number on me. i have got to the point where i just want to get some projects done

 

Another week passes and we’re still no further forward with the enquiries. Apparently, the solicitor was off ill for part of the week and hasn’t had a chance to review them yet. She’s set aside some time to look at them early next week, so it’ll probably be Wednesday before we hear anything.

Nobody can help being off unwell, but it’s frustrating that I’m the one constantly chasing for updates — nothing seems to be forthcoming unless I reach out, or even when I send emails. I’m just hoping there’s nothing further she needs to go back on, because at this stage a completion before the end of November is looking pretty unlikely.

Yet again, we wait…
