Was only in a cotton t shirt. Get too hot walking to wear anything more :hehe:

There is definitely a distinct lack of shoulder muscles on either side, likely a cause of the current shoulder conundrum :hehe: Has been extremely troublesome the last couple of days, got really aggravated today, potentially because of hoofing my bag round on the "good" shoulder
No, but that might be a better option than getting the shoulder fixed again.

Two of cats won’t eat without excessive attention and some tube treat poured on top of whatever, and take their hungry tummies out on the humans by causing absolute chaos until we attend to their needs perfectly. A third cat, is an absolute chonk who tries to bull her way into extra food. Both of the fussy eaters have started to need me to deal with their eating habits at the exact same time. And I just cannot. It’s stressful enough for one and the chonker. Two now? Actually impossible for me to be in two places at once and **** me if I’m not because the one not getting attention will cause utter chaos that I then have to deal with.

Re-homing one or more isn’t really an option but has begun to be discussed so who knows but feels like the only answer :(

Home and contents insurance - so much life admin faffing.

Have had a policy for the last 15 years where the TLDR was "We gotchu, don't worry about the details" - and worry about the details we did not.
They've been steadily increasing the price over the last few years and I had a feeling one year it would just be stopped, and this is the year.

Now I need to worry about the details... itemising things over certain arbitrary thresholds depending on insurer, putting some arbitrary value on things that cannot be replaced, hypothetically imagining if something did need to replaced what I would replace it with and at what cost, second guessing whether something falls into various arbitrary definitions of "valuable".

    So. Much. Faff.

Don't forget inflation rapidly pushing the replacement costs of items above the threshold; I hope you have your RAM listed.

That's just the thing... speakers for example.
I have a 7ch set of B&W 800 series speakers in the cinema. These are the last speakers I ever planned to buy. They are not the latest generation nor do I need them to be, and I doubt I spent more than £10k on the lot having picked them all up ex-demo at various points. Are these worth £10k or are these worth new, retail like for like ~£45k?

Except the "what would they cost to replace" is entirely hypothetical anyway because the only scenario it would matter is a total loss of some sort, when chances are they would not at all be replaced like for like.

This gets even stupider when it gets to a grand piano my wife inherited. It is of great sentimental value, and of material/insurance value somewhere between £0-86k depending on the interpretation. This one is less difficult partly because once the sentimental value it gone its a little easier to think of the "what would I replace this with" hypothetical, and partly because it may surprise you that specifying a hypothetically £86k piano to a policy increases the premium a little.

And then there's the actually important things - the "general items to live" that would need to be replaced like-for-like, where no individual item is of notable value but the aggregate forms the bulk of the general contents bucket... Dishes, pans, bedding, small furnishings and appliances, random decor, the usb charger, coaster, mug and pen on the desk in front of me.

    Faff.

When it comes to an actual claim you also need evidence that these high value things existed and purchase details if possible so cataloging your house contents is a thing that needs to be done, more faff.

Fortunately everything is bought online these days with massive email trails, who knows how it was meant to work in the '80s?

Doing the contents of the garage alone would be a nightmare.

I imagine in the '80s you would have had to scan all your paper receipts and put them and photos on cloud storage in case your house burned down

    Scan?
    Cloud storage?

80's you'd just have to photocopy them and fax them to your insurer I imagine

I remember my parents had a special drawer at a local bank where they kept a stack of paperwork - assume it was this sort of stuff.

(I also really hope you give me enough credit that you didn't think I wasn't being facetious!)
Anyway if you didn't have access to cloud storage you could have just kept the photos on your smartphone, assuming you had enough capacity.

Soo my laptop i orderes Wend, paid for Saturday delivery, it was sent out for delivery yesterday... i called Scan who made out it was a good thing it wasnt coming on the day id paid for and requested... eventually they said they would contact dpd.. Dpd have not put a note on my parcel to be held until further notice need contact from supplier.. dpd live chat is monday to friday only.. the lady on phone was just rude and Scan are closed till 10. So its a waiting game. If it doesnt get delivered today ill have to tell dpd return to sender and cancel as im away as of tomorrow...

So a great start to my 16 day break

Update 100% wont be delivered today it gets added to a pile that are failed from the day before.. and apparrently just sit there and they See if there is space.. which to me seams backwards.. if you dont finish your jobs from yesterday why are they just discarded and not the priorty for the next day... sorry scan but youll be getting rhe brunt of this when you open at 10 as dpd say its because it wasnt booked as a saturday delivery and when i try to change it to tomorrow they want me to pay again

Now I understand many members have had no problems using Scan but, all the time I have been a member here, there has been a drip, drip of complaints about their customer service, enough for me to avoid using them.

So dpd blame scan saying scan didnt pay for a saturday delivery just a next day service.. hence it went out yesterday, and when i called scan to ask WTF they then upgraded it to saturday which caused the issue, as when it got back to the yard it wasnt sorted into todays, but then scan today have said they will change it to tomorrow but its likely to be monday.. i asked can they pay then for a pre 10 slot as tomorrow i go away so if i stop at home i loose a day at the cabin but if it turns up early i can still go. Which i was told they cant.

But scan blame dpd saying that even thou it was a Saturday service they often deliver sooner... begs the question why offer it as a premium service then if they know wont.

I get its a busy time of year but what bugs me most is the two different stories i get, annoying as i use dpd where we work and i know one of the managers so could of gotten him to resolve it. Oh well

If its not here monday at the latest dinner time ive told scan ill be getting a refund and shop else where in the new year. Not loosing 2 weeks away and they cant deliver without a code and i have a return to sender option. So waiting game now. Just a waste of days haning around for dpd

It is 100% Scan's fault, or more accurately it is 100% Scan's responsibility. Your contract is with them, not DPD, so the buck stops with Scan.

The law makes it clear, it is the retailer's responsibility right up until the item is actually delivered.

    Yup, agree with the above.

Your contract is with the retailer no matter what retailers say.
