Went to get my hair cut, apparently it's job swap day and I got the butcher, who looped the tops off a mole I have on each cheek, so bad I've had to put small plasters on, and now look like Andy pandy. He also cut a dirty great chunk out the front of my beard, so despite asking him to keep it long, I've had to cut it back short to even it out. Joy

Was it one of the barber shops that isn't busy ? You know, the ones where the barbers stand on the doorstep smoking all day, but drive Porsche SUVs because they're somehow earning a lot of money?

Is that the one down the road from the vape shop that carries very little stock and gets regular visits from someone driving a Porsche SUV?
And across the road from the "American Candy Shop" that sells a few slightly misspelt sweeties - and also happens to be visited by someone driving a Porsche SUV?

Not quite, but it is opposite a new 24hr shop with a large lean flashing sign, that's opposite a costcutter that's been there for ages, 4doors down from another new mini-mart with flashing neon sign that has a new garage behind it with suspect looking boarded up portacabins behind that, then we've got the 2 desert shops next to each other on the corner opposite. To be fair there's a drought of real supermarkets round here, it's not like we're in the epicentre of a sainsburys, lidl, 2 aldis an asda and a farm foods..... :eyebrow:

Spent the first half of the week complaining that my next several weeks of homework had yet to be released. Well they released them.

Just had my pickup MOT'd, Passed but with some advisories (Shock absorber misting of oil, Track Rod boots deteriorated, brake disc worn), a year ago when I bought the truck I went with the warranty they were selling with it (Yes Yes I know I should have known better), the exact words of the salesguy were "It covers everything", and the policy document for it does indeed say the same, covers everything even "wear and tear" .
So, go to collect it and ask if that work can be done on the warranty, they put a request in and I get a message saying it's been declined.
So now I've got to go back and either remind them of what the warranty policy says or request a refund of the cost of the warranty as it's either been missold or not being honoured.

My bicep hurts, my thumb is numb, my quadricep hurts, all on the right side.

And I was fighting a stupid application and stupid JavaScript that I really hate and got nowhere.

And our youngest kitten keeps starting fights with all the other cats and literally has to be shut in a room at seven months old and I have to follow her around for the time she’s allowed out to get her off the other cats and she isn’t learning to not.

And another of our cats is a massive bully and I had to break up a fight again this morning where he three times jumped on another cat. And he never ever stops this ****. He also wakes me three times a night for food but refuses to ****ing eat during the day. And he won’t change no matter what.

I love cats but this is not fun.

There have been problems at school, with some boys (including mine) being picked on by one particular child in the year above. The saving grace is that this isn’t a case of our word against theirs — other children are involved and have experienced the same behaviour.

I went to speak to the head today in the hope of nipping it in the bud, but that clearly hasn’t happened, as my son came home saying he had been hit. I called the head again and explained that, despite his assurance that the child had been kept in at lunchtime, this has still happened — and that I am not happy about it.

Fortunately, he (son) doesn’t seem too affected by it, but I know this isn’t something he is inviting through friendship or normal rough play. He is being targeted because he is soft-natured and placid. His friend is taking it much harder and has left him dejected over the weekend according to his mum.

One of his friends is also being targeted by the same child, and another friend has come home with scratches on his face after feeling he had to defend the two boys.

I have now asked to arrange a conversation with the parents. Either it is arranged formally through the school, in a professional and diplomatic way — or I approach them myself, and it will not be diplomatic.

A solution to bullying should not be my relentless pursuit of his parents, but if that’s what it has to be, so be it. This will be sorted, they'll see my face in their nightmares before the weeks out...

    DPD are shite!

Informed me package would be delivered this morning, nothing appeared. I checked DPD's tracking this afternoon, it appears it was delivered, to an address in Bridgwater, east of Taunton. I live in a small village a few miles west of Taunton...

The first few years after we moved to this address, nearly 14 years ago, there was a regular driver for DVD in this area. He was as reliable as night follows day, never missed the stated slot or failed to deliver.

EDIT: After spending some time on online chat with the retailer this morning, turns out the DPD driver can't read numbers! Package was delivered next door but, next door neighbour has dodgy eyesight and, thought the parcel was for another neighbour and took it to him. He realised it was for me but, still hadn't remembered to bring it round this morning...

Great news: the funding fell through so I don't have to go to MWC!

The bad news chaser: they're sending me to Nuremberg for Embedded World instead!
