The brain opened dozens of tabs when I tried to sleep last night, add needing to pee every hour like the old man I'm becoming, zero sleep.
Gladly only 1 work call today, but I have to contribute to this one, meh

Asda just take the piss did my weekly food shop out of the 40 lines 10 are unavailable and 20 are substitutes.. I don't know why i keep shopping with them trying to call to tell them not to bother out of the 20 subs there is 1 item id actually use. id ordered gluten free food they sent normal id ordered lactose free ice-cream sent normal... I just gave up, driver is due in next hour was trying to save him turning up and being turned away. But if they after 20mins don't have someone to answer the phone that's on them now.

** Very angry driver just to top it off I explained the situation and explained and showed him how long I'd been on the phone still wasn't a happy chap. I only shop online as Tesco don't do the products in store as it's a small Tesco near me. And I hate going in supermarkets. Not a fan of crowded places. I might try Tesco online, but last time I used them it was worse than Asda.

New shed build, bottomless pit for money at present :(
    Shed: £1600 (discounted)
    Base: £450
    Insulation: £500 (Kingspan & XPS)
    Internal Walls: £500 (structural plywood)
Electrics: £250 (not including feed from CU which is another £200)
    Internal benches/tools/storage etc.: £1000

Still a lot cheaper than I expected, but boy does it chew money up

Can't wait until it is all done and I can start using it

Meh is doing a lot of heavy lifting here but listening to Pain Remains trilogy studio playthrough by Lorna Shore on Youtube as its not on Spotify and with the window minimised Forevermore starts playing. This is the one track that I would love to see a video for as, for me, it tops Pain Remains (trilogy) for the raw emotional roller coaster (watching the actual videos for Pain Remains 1-3 will give context here). Thinking that they have dropped the video I quickly switch windows and its just the album art..... booooooo.... but also :rock::rock::rock:

Suddenly realising how far back my hairline has receded upon my cursory glance at the mirror during brushing my teeth this morning.

I had that moment quite some time ago. Time to buy some clippers.

I had long hair when I did it, OH felt she had a new fella so it wasn't all bad.

I came to the conclusion that it was time for the clippers, about 40 years ago in my 20s. I’m still going bald now but, what’s left on top is getting sparser and sparser…

37 now, got just as much hair as I did two decades ago. But my eyebrows try to meet in the middle. They also try to meet my hairline. Got those strong Portuguese genes.

Eyebrows are strange creatures. Mine have become increasingly wild as the years have gone by. I see this has a further development into the "windswept and interesting" look that Billy Connelly would talk about which given that I work as an engineer specialising in lightning, sounds fair to me. However, my wife is of a different opinion and would rather I had "normal eyebrows" and not these wild pieces of wire that I seem to be growing now.

So we compromise, I am free to keep them and not get moaned at until they get plucked but they need to be neatened every now and then. So when I go to get my hair cut, the barber also trims the "mentat eyebrows" and it sounds like snapping twigs as the clippers go through them. They have not charged me extra for taking chunks out of the clipper blades yet, but that may only be time....

My eyebrows cover a smaller area than they used to but, if I forget to trim them with the clippers, my memory is not good so it happens often, they will grow to around 3cm, like an economy version of Denis Healey's...

    My eyebrows are fine.
    Except one.
    One solitary eyebrow hair.
Just one that seems to have a growth defect and has to be kept in line every now and then otherwise you'd be able to use it as a skipping rope.

    Bodies are weird.

    QFT.

If I didn't regularly trim my ear hairs, I'd look like some fairy tale character. Why the flying eff do they even grow there?

Tell me about it, I seem to have inherited chimp ears from somewhere. Once a fortnight I carefully go at them with a lighter filling the bathroom with a wondrous scent.

For me ear hairs are the worst, especially the long itchy ones that sprout overnight into an unbelievable length

That's what I don't get. In blokes head hair can go "I've had enough, I'm outta here" and yet ears, nose, wherever the frak else goes "yay, let's fricking party".

I don't understand the biological sense behind it. Unless it's to stop as much getting to your ailing immune system as possible but if you have nose hair trailing on the ground it's going to pick up more bugs.

Got to love notifications from Nationwide. Just received one 5 minutes ago stating not enough funds in account to release payments. I had checked it at 6:30 this morning as my wife gets paid on the 1st and all the receipt along with known DD's are all visible thus payments have been made so was quite happy everything was fine.

Get this notification and start to worry that something else has happened.... no just mega go slow.

I just refactored a php file for our company's website and everything works after stripping out ~600 lines of code...except one function...which has been refactored the exact same way as other functions. Head scratch moments are occurring since most of the functions in this file have very similar functionality (they all calculate prices for bespoke products) so code changes can largely be applied across the board with ease.

I wrote the file in the first place, so it's wonderfully confusing! I even asked our friendly, neighbourhood LLM ... which said no functionality had been lost.
