Chainsaw wouldn't start, it's done this to me before with what I think was flooding, but I've not had a chance to look at it. Fortunately I have another so the work still got done.

I can't imagine going into the loft on a day like this, I'd die of heat stroke.

I topped up the bar oil (as I'm not at home to Mr Cockup), then the fuel and it started and ran first time. I didn't prime it though as I believe it to be susceptible to flooding. I actually finished off the bar oil but I'd bought another bottle in advance. How can I have such foresight yet still not know to put fuel into an engine that won't run? TBH, even as I filled I was thinking "it really ought to be able to run on what's in it?".

Mate it gets worse, it started running smokey then died, I went back to the other saw and it then ran out of fuel. I filled it up and as I did so I was thinking "funny how the fuel filler is at the back of this saw and not the front like the other..." :duh:

So yeah, I'd filled the fuel tank with bar oil and vice versa. I cleaned them out, put fresh fuel and bar oil into the correct tanks, and it started and ran just fine. A touch smoky but three big cuts into a hardwood log sorted it out. I ought to give up for the day. Misfuelling a chainsaw, it's a miracle I've managed two children.

Could you please get some provisions in for Mr Cockup, I fear it will be a long visit.

Isn't Lefty Brain what Elon "Pedo Guy" Musk says all his critics have?

It's close enough. Specifically, it's "Woke Mind Virus."

Yeah, that's why people aren't buying the Cybertruck, Pedo Guy. They've got the Woke Mind Virus.

    Lol.

I saw a comparison of the cybertruck boot, how normal boots stop and go back up but a cybertruck will just keep going and take your fingers off

It's a feature! Who among us hasn't been out in the wilderness1 and realised we've no way to trim the ends off our carrots2? Innovation!

    1) The Cybertruck's warranty is expressly invalid if you take it off-road3. That's not a joke, I'm not making that up.

    2) The Cybertruck's unfinished, uncoated stainless steel exterior will rust if exposed to moisture. Again, this is not a joke.

    3) A footnote referencing a footnote? That's how I roll, baby. Where was I? Oh, yes: the warranty is also expressly invalid if you use it on anything other than a perfectly smooth, freshly-tarmac'd road4. I quote: "This New Vehicle Limited warranty does not cover any vehicle damage of malfunction directly or indirectly caused by, due to, or resulting from, normal wear or deterioration, abuse, misuse, negligence, accident, improper maintenance, operation, storage, or transport, as defined in the Owner's Manual, including but not limited to, any of the following: Driving over uneven, rough, damaged or hazardous surfaces, including but not limited to curbs, potholes, unfinished roads, debris, other obstacles or in competition racing or autocross or for any other purposes for which the vehicle is not designed."

    4) This has not stopped Pedo Guy claiming it's an ideal offroad vehicle, nor that you can use it as a boat for up to half an hour5.

    5) But, again, don't get it wet while you're doing so.

Meanwhile, Top Gear took a rattled old Toyota Hilux dating from 1984-1988 with 190,000 miles on the clock and could not kill it. It was:
    • Driven down stairs
    • Driven into brick walls
    • Driven through the sea
    • Part buried in sand after being left in the sea
    • Dropped from a crane
    • Driven through a timber wall
    • Crushed by a wrecking ball
    • Placed at the top of a 23-storey tower that was literally blown up to demolish it
And the engine still ran afterwards.
