Upgraded the Nvidia drivers on the desktop over the weekend... and I've had two instances of GNOME Shell hard-hanging since. Bah.

    EDIT:
Downgraded from "feature branch" 555 to "production branch" 550, and I haven't had a crash since. Probably best I stick to 550 until it's time to either flatten-and-upgrade the desktop or build a new one!

Got Covid for the first time. Felt horrific early hours of this morning. Hot/freezing and super tired.

Hand full of pills and good to go. It’s going through everyone in our household. Fun times

Better than a cough, sneeze, burp, hiccup, fart, shart.

My partner took the pith out of me the other week ‘coz I twinged my back wringing out a flannel in the shower. :duh:

I managed to injure myself just sitting down a couple of weekends ago (see "What are you playing now" thread). Took me a couple of days to get the twinge out of my back.

    Getting old sucks.

There's been a box of ice pops on the kitchen side for a while, after a batch was loaded into the freezer on delivery. "Hey," I thought, "I bet I can squeeze the whole box into the chest freezer, get it out of the way and everything frozen and ready to eat."

Picked it up... the cardboard's sopping wet.

Turns out a couple of the flavours - cola and strawberry, by the look of it - were bad, and have fermented... causing several to burst and spill rotten ice-pop juice everywhere.

Cleaned up the surface and everything on it, but now I'll be spending however long after work washing sticky residue off a hundred or so ice pops to salvage what I can...

Paid £4k for an IFS kit for my F100 truck in June (supposed to be with them end of July) no updates since paying and the company isn't responding to emails/WhatsApp's or calls.

How can people have the cheek to run a business with a flashy website/Facebook showing off how good they think they are then completely ignore customer contact, boils my piss, :wallbash:

    ... and breathe.

    My Emotiscope finally arrived!

    ...it's either broken or rubbish.

The demo video for metronome mode shows it rapidly picking up the beat of the music and offering a crisp visualisation, even tracking multiple parts separately with high accuracy.

Here's what I get, playing the same audio:

Yeah. I'm running the latest firmware, so I can only conclude the microphone's shagged or something. Gutted.

Bodies are strange. Mine lets me know I am getting sick now by my uvula growing to the size of my little finger and then sitting on my tongue like a piece of bubblegum. Ears feel strange too.

I think it is my body telling me to rest after a hellish week, but it could have sodding waited for the olympics to begin ffs.

So a for sale sign was put up on my house today.

Which would be fine except they drilled into brick work rather than attaching to a wooden arch we have.

Oh and a sale's already been agreed so it's not for sale anymore.

It's the several levels of stupid that bugs me.

    We've already taken it down.

    Well boolacks.

I've had a worse knee for about a week. By worse I mean, I have the arthur in both, but I also twanged my left knee last week bending down to paint my bike frame. It has been hurting ever since. Maybe ligaments, as the pain is coming from under my skin not in the joints as usual.

Any way, at 6am I awoke busting for a wee. I was groggy as heck, so I thought "Sit down wee". As I went to sit down the right one went. FFS. What makes it worse is today is the day I finally go round my care worker's house and set up all of the stuff I have been hoarding for her. Which means carrying speakers down the stairs.

Gonna have to strap up. So glad mum treated me to a strip of her strong codeine. I think, however, I am going to have to start pressuring the NHS now. Two years ago they put me on co dydramol and were going to make me an appointment. I think it is time to stop playing the hard man and start whining.

Do you know what I love the most about facebook? is how safe a place it is for kids. All thanks to them banning me for a week for posting a meme.

However, if it is hard drugs you are after? you're sorted kids.

Just the same old routine of scrolling past the vetted and very safe ads to show to children. That's all.

If it wasn’t for the fact my entire elderly family are on there and I worry a lot less seeing them around and safe I would bin it tomorrow tbh.

Still recovering from having a tooth out on Thursday.

It really did not want to come out and took a LOT of twisting, pulling, and levering to get it out so as a result, my mouth is still extremely bruised, this means that I can't bite very hard as the teeth either side of the socket are in bruised gum and bone.

It came out because of a recurring infection that kept popping out an abscess on the outside of the gum. That infection will go away now that to tooth is not there, but it is still putting up a bit of a fight, something that is not helping the pain although I am now able to properly clean the socket so that should ease off along with the headache that it is giving me.

Still, at least ibuprofen is actually working for this although I have almost run out...

I am kinda used to pain, I have a constant lower back pain from getting hit by a car some 30+ years ago, but mouth pain is something else, it just wears you down.

    Two weeks of meh.

Done nothing but chase my tail - trying to arrange tradesmen to carry out work - at home and wth the car - sorting passports, dealing with Student Finance England (useless shower of shite); all whilst dealing with health issues - both me and the missus.

It's been an absolutely shite fortnight. I'm just hoping we're at the end of it.
