The top? Driving on top of the road is always recommended!

When I am king, these stupid fake plastic earth pins will be banned, and anyone selling a product with them will be publicly flogged.

It cracked a while ago, and I replaced it a while ago, but it finally gave up the other day… This one used to live in my work bag so it did take a fair bit of abuse, but it’s hard to imagine that a metal earth pin would have snapped…

But metal costs money, and if it's not going to be used for earthing.........

Although I've got to give you props, I've never seen a plug pin snapped

There is some metal in there - there’s two small pins to act as a support… which end more or less exactly where the break point is… :duh:

About as likely as a public flogging :thumb:

I’m re-arranging my server stuff today.

I’ve reached the stage that is all too familiar for anyone with ADHD: any enthusiasm I had for the task has gone completely out the window and I am no longer interested in this. And it’s warm and clammy, which is not in any way conducive to lugging furniture and heavy computers about.

But I can’t put off the rest of the job for another day.

All the cables are yanked out, the old cabinet has been extricated, all the servers have been unplugged and moved to another room temporarily, the router is offline, the WiFi access point is offline… I can’t even switch my lights on or off because the Hue bridge is offline. Basically all I’ve got is my phone’s 5G data.

So… I have to finish the job today. So I’m gonna do it in small bursts punctuated with bouts of sitting on my arse and dicking about on my phone.

Put on energetic music and see if it gets you into a rhythm for it! Thats what I do for big tasks :)

I have been, but I don’t like wearing headphones when I get sweaty. My AirPods start to fall out; the fake leather pads on my Bose QC35 II feel really disgusting when I get sweaty; and the fabric pads on my DT770s are already in dire need of replacement due to wearing them while sweaty, they’re literally going a funky colour (we need a :barf: emoji…)

Does lisdexamfetamine count? ‘Cos I’m way ahead of you there :thumb:

I did actually try “street” speed once or twice in my younger days, it did not have the effect on me that you’d expect. Instead of the “buzzy” euphoric high, it made me feel calmer and more relaxed, more “normal”. That’s not unusual, it’s one of the reasons that use/abuse of illegal drugs is very common among people with ADHD.

Not sure that's the most accurate appendage for a touchscreen tbh.

Thought I would upgrade my test bench a little (Ryzen has been returned) and noticed the local CeX had a 12900KF for £210.

Why not I thought, nice little upgrade from the 12400F I am currently running and is a decent price and looks to not be affected by the recent issues.

    So I bought it...

    Dead memory channel.....

    :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Memory and board work fine with the 12400F and both slots closest to the CPU do not either detect memory or post with memory in them.

    Le Sigh..

Oh and my server won't detect any of the keyboards I have so I will need to grab a dusty old Lenovo thing from work tomorrow to test that out as well. I can't create a user to utilise iDrac as I can't type in any credentials.

I can see however that the RAM is all being detected as are the NVME cards. So its not a total loss of an afternoon.

The belated book shipment I posted about in the awesome thread - DHL has updated the tracking.
It gave me a "MyHermes" link that didn't work. :duh:

The tracking number itself is valid on Evri though.

That was a legit email I'd written manually to a legit email address. So... GFY, Plusnet...

Amazon's running an offer: if you had an Amazon-branded Mastercard back in the day (I did, when it was with NewDay), you can sign up for the new Amazon-branded Barclaycard and get a £50 gift voucher and 2% cashback on all Amazon purchases for six months (4% on Prime Day) - which would stack with the 1% I get from Curve.

Yeah, g'wan then. Ridiculous APR, but I have no intention of paying interest.

Went through the application process, filled in all the details: rejected. No idea why, my credit rating is "excellent" on every service.

Waste of time, and now Amazon and Barclaycard have a bunch of my personal information and I get bupkis.

Wonder if they know that I've never paid credit card interest in my life, and would have been a deeply unprofitable account for 'em?

Just got the 8th bone fragment out of my tooth socket after an extraction 3 weeks ago... Hopefully this means that the socket and surrounding gums will now start to calm down and heal up properly...
