Unfortunately, one of our two new cats has had to go back to the rescue centre. Waltzer, the male, turned out to be very unhappy in a multi-cat household - constantly stalking and harassing the female. It was very stressful for them both, and even separating them into different rooms wasn't much of an improvement - and we tried a bunch of other stuff, up to and including a £20 "Feliway Friends" diffuser (which made bog-all difference.)

Feeling really guilty - he was a lovely cat, and I'm sure he'd be a great pet in a single-pet household - but this is on the rescue, really: Ceri went in for *one* cat and got pressured into two, and they claimed they were a bonded pair (bollocks) that had grown up in the rescue together (double bollocks - if he's been in the rescue that long, how come he was only neutered the day before we picked him up?)

Got my suspicions about his date of birth, too: they reckon he's under a year old - younger than Ghost, the female - but he looks a lot older than that t'me.

    Ah that's a shame @Gareth Halfacree

I've often wondered how reliable the 'bonded in the shelter' thing is.

    I can't see it myself.

T'is a shame, but I understand completely. We cat-sat a female cat for some friends, and our boy was the same. He'd be fine for most of the day, but at some point he'd see a red mist and start stalking and pinning her. It's what made us decide to not get another cat. Fortunately he has a pretty active imagination and can entertain himself when we're not entertaining him.

    Ahh, that's a shame...

But, as hard as it might be, you have to do what's best for the cats, and it sounds like that's exactly what you have in mind.

Are you, Mr Bank? Oh well, as long as all those executives are also getting cuts to their bonuses. Oh, wait...

Waited in all day for an Evri collection. Checked the tracking just now to see if there was an estimated time: "Your friendly local courier couldn't collect your parcel today, We're sorry about that. We'll try again on the next working day."

Nobody's been near the house, I've been sat next to the door all day. I've missed the Thornton Street Market for this!

I had the same last week. Luckily, it was being delivered to work where I had to be anyway.

Our little Brown coat Mal (Bunny) has suddenly decided he is bored of his food - confirmed yesterday when we wouldn't eat any that we put down in the morning or the evening but yummed up the Apple and Spinnach put down and was charging and doing binkies all around the garden. This in isolation wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that the food he is on is the only one he can eat without becoming poorly.

There may be some other options out there for him to try but all the mainstream brands just give him gut trouble.

Either that or he has decided he doesn't like the Hay we have for him... the same hay we always buy because he is a fussy little oik.

EDIT: Quick update on this. He has eaten both his Dinner from last night and breakfast from this morning (he eats when we eat basically hence calling them that). Judging from his reactions last night we are starting to think that his eyesight has diminished somewhat in the sense that he can't see his food in the bowl. May be nothing but he was clinging to either of us like a limpet, moving to where we moved as if he was following the big shadow and couldn't see the small bowl "shadow".

He seems fine otherwise so not overly concerned.

    A day of travel ahead.

    Ugh.

By the end of the day I will not doubt be very tired and full of other people's bugs like usual.

Still, travelling back means you're lucky enough to travel away in the first place.

    Airports. Waiting at airports.

Oh and seeing an old scowling face of a man to then realise that that face in the window reflection is you.

Effing ageing. What's it good for?

Bugger! That means I'll have arguments trying to park anywhere near my own house every Friday until Xmas!
(Lives opposite a school with massive, unused playing fields, but which has no plans to build a "pick up/drop off" area for motoring parents on them. Finishes work early on Fridays because flexitime)

Yay, that means next door won't be a shouty hellohole of 'lovely' middle-class parents shouting at their kids and the young lass shouting at how she neeeeeds the iPad.

    Lol. Good times.
