Aye, I used to get up 6:20am and be in the office for 7am, now I have to drop kids off at nursery for 8am and slog my way across town.

Sometimes I go home instead and work there until half nine then go in, hurts less.

Given that we are now, as of the time of this screenshot, four hours and sixteen minutes beyond the initial delivery window, I think it's safe to say that Kelsey is running very late indeed. In fact, I think it'd be more accurate to say that it is unlikely that Kelsey will get here today... That "running behind" message was added before the original delivery window was even closed; the tracking map stopped being visible over an hour ago; and even before the map disappeared the little van marker hadn't moved in 40 minutes.

I should've just bloody picked it up at a store instead of getting it delivered... I was planning to sort out my ethernet runs tomorrow because I'm busy all day Sunday, but that's yet another week I'll have to put it off... It is clearly not going to get here today. That's OK - things don't always go to plan and sometimes **** happens, I know that. And changing my plans isn't a big deal really, I've got plenty of other stuff that needs to be done on a weekend.

The part that pisses me off is the complete and utter vacuum of information. If it isn't coming today then update the ****ing tracking page to say that, instead of telling me for the last four and a half hours that it "should be with you shortly".

I’ve ordered a fair bit off screwfix and tool station this past week, and the thing that’s annoyed me is after seeing it’s “in stock” go through to payment only to be told, yeah this is coming from our warehouse and will be here on xyz day.
If I’d know that prior to paying I wouldn’t have paid!

Woke up four times with a bad back and crashing headache. Finally gave in around 9:30 and got up. Turned on the lamp, was making a horrible noise. Turned off lamp and back on again, bulb dead.
Barely able to stand I go for my morning poo. Realise the disabled seat needs taking off and cleaning properly. Do that, back killing me, come back to bedroom. All of a sudden I hear a crack. Not sure of what it was I watch my morning videos on YT whilst squirming around with back pain.

All of a sudden my hands are slimy. I thought "That's odd, I just washed them twice". Hobbled downstairs and realised the glass on my vape had cracked and my hands were covered in it. So not only do I need to completely flush and change cig I need to find spare glass and then do the whole lot. Sit down for a vape (finally) and realise I need to mix up a new bottle as the one I had was empty.

    FFS.

Really shitty low mood this morning. No motivation to do anything at all. Have tried to force myself to get some work done all morning, but it just isn’t happening.

Doesn’t help that I woke up several times last night and struggled to get back to sleep each time, so I woke up feeling like utter crap from the get-go.

Our MD at work (the one and only person who can tell me what to do there) has just told me to give unrestricted access to the system we use for training documentation and other forms we use regularly, to an external person/entity. I warned heavily against this as it's a recipe for utter disaster, one that would take me days to fix if it all went belly up. It's alright though, because he trusts said person :grr:

Get that in writing via email.

Nothing beats a good “cover your ass” email.

As @Byron C says, you need some physical cover your arse paper(e)trail.

I'd also make it clear your objection.

Then I'd crack on and wait till it goes mammaries up.

That'll be the time to deploy the raised 'you don't say' eyebrow when the fan is spreading excrement.

Mental health has been noooooo bueno today.

No real reason, came back from a holiday and had a really good time with family. A series of late nights has probably not helped it.

Just could have happily binned off today but powered on regardless. Hopefully a good nights sleep will sort me out

Running the numbers* and coming to the inescapable conclusion I should be on £10K more a year than I'm currently on. And yet my team manager didn't even finish his HND.

*Comparing my previous wages, inflation, and no wage increase since 2019 (even going backwards thanks to Covid). As well as looking through the job market.

Careful with this line of thinking. Over the course of my career(s) I've seen very little correlation between formal education and the ability to do the job. Might be more a factor for some specific jobs, of course - not sure I'd trust a "doctor" who didn't have a medical degree :D

Yeah it depends on the field.

In many, stupidity and ineptitude are promoted to positions where they can do less damage and not cause more problems.
