Trying to get my meds sorted out. I was (eventually, after a lot of faffing about and an A&E visit) prescribed 8mg candesartan and 5mg amlodipine daily for high blood pressure. Initially, all was good: my blood pressure dropped into the "optimum" spot.

Then I started to experience gastro-oesophagal reflux - GORD, a side-effect of amlodipine. Insult to injury, my BP was creeping up as well. Got in touch with the doc, who suggested either lansoprazole or dropping the amlodipine and doubling the candesartan. Opted for the latter.

Now I'm well back in hypertension - stage two, by most charts. Looks like candesartan ain't cutting it. Finally managed to get a slot on PATCHS to send the readings to the doc, and have suggested either we keep candesartan at 16mg and add the amlodipine back into the mix with some lansoprazole to fix the GORD problem or look at an entirely different medication.

Meanwhile, I'm on day four - or five, I've lost track - of a crushing headache. Symptomless killer my arse.

I quit material engineering about 15 years ago. Been in software on and off for the past 10 or so years. You dont need to know how to code, PM is pretty decent too and uses loads of the transferable skills from propper engineering.

Good luck, IIRC it took about 18 months of faffing around with different meds for my BP before we settled on 3 that seem to work for now and don't screw my body up

Honestly the first blood pressure drug I tried did the trick straight away, ramipril 2.5mg. But I’m only juuust into the diagnostic criteria for stage 1 hypertension…

At 60, my only physical health problem is osteoarthritis and, the way to deal with that and, slow it's progress, is to keep moving. Moderate impact, such as walking if it's your knees, helps to stimulate regrowth and repair of the cartilage. I don't need to take any medication.

Doc rang: I'm to stick with the 16mg candesartan and add 10mg lercanidipine as an alternative to amlodipine.

Annoyingly, though, 'cos of the faffage, I'm going to end up running out of candesartan before I run out of lercanidipine. I'll have to convince the pharmacy to dispense the lercanidipine early next month, or I'll have to make twice the trips...

It is in England if you are sick enough or the "right kind" of sick.....

With the amount of pills and jabs that my wife and I are on (T2 diabetes for both of us, chronic pain for both of us, thyroid and fibromyalgia for her....), I dread to think how much we would have to be paying if it wasn't for our medical exemptions. Of course, I would rather not need that exemption, but best of a bad lot and all that I guess.

Micromanaging. Reports because overview is needed is one thing but reporting on a report that then needs breaking down in to a report of that report based on a report? Just tell me you want me to move on already and be done with it. Bleeding from one’s ass through unknown reasons of concern is one thing, exasperating said issue through unnecessary stress is something else entirely. Can’t be arsed.

Ordered a continous lighting photography 'oojamaflip' so I can setup a bigger white background area for photographing large items for eBay.

Ordered the tripod and soft box separately from the same site a day later when I realised it was just as cheap.

Both of which have now turned up while the light itself is dancing between Exeter, Midlands & Romford mail centres..... uhhh

They’ve stopped now but, we used to get many claiming to be our local energy advisor. Always one of the same two voices but, always a different phone number, often international, not local…

Had one the other day that showed up on my phone as 'Bidwalla Fruit & Veg', the guy claimed to be phoning on behalf of Three (the phone network). He was asking how I was finding my service, I said I haven't ordered any fruit or veg, he got confused. It was one of the more fun ones I have had.

I argued with one the other day. Claimed to be calling from EE asking all sorts of details about my contract - how much am I paying, how long is it, can they save me any money, etc… Anyone calling from EE would damn well have that information already and they’d damn well know I’m in the middle of a contract

    You ok dude?

No major injuries I hope, beyond what you obviously must have suffered and are rightfully claiming off him.
