    Late night stupidity.

I thought I'd move all my internal images onto my SD before my new phone arrives, just to have an extra backup.

They moved, they're there, but of course in one long chain of photos mixed with WhatsApp pics, screenshots and every other gubbins.

Never do anything late at night.

Guess I may just leave the new sd card clean and start again. Dunno if I can face resorting stuff.

    Ugh.

On the off-chance you haven’t sorted this yet…

Do the camera photos not have some sort of filename pattern?

All my Android phones in the past have used a pattern like ‘IMG_0000.jpg’ or whatever. Admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve had an Android phone, but every iPhone I’ve had does that as well.

Yeah I'm.going to look at it tomorrow when I get chance and plug it into the pc, should be able to cobble something together.

It's just when you think you'll do something that you don't need to that then just creates an annoyance that wasn't there before you blummin fiddled!

    My email lately:

    HUGE BLACK FRIDAY SALE!

    EARLY BLACK FRIDAY OFFERS!

    BLACK FRIDAY PRE-SALES!

SIGN UP NOW FOR MASSIVE BLACK FRIDAY DISCOUNTS!

    BLACK FRIDAY EARLY BIRD SALE!

    BLACK FRIDAY SALES START NOW!

Not even a week into November and I am already sick to the back teeth of Black Friday.

It’s a ****ing joke anyway. Yeah you spot the occasional bargain here and there, but often that same thing is on offer at other times of the year for the same price (or less) as it is on Black ****ing Friday… Not to mention Amazon’s usual shenanigans of selling something at “50% off” on Black Friday or Prime Day when they sell it at “55% off” throughout the rest of the ****ing year…

Keepa browser extension and CamelCamelCamel - don’t be ripped off by their shitty deceptive sales tactics.

I can't remember the last time I saw a genuine black friday deal on any retailer - they just bump the prices on the run up and then claim that they're offering massive discounts.

Ebuyer are prime offenders, as well as Amazon and the majority of retailers with ebay shops.

In other news, Scan have just reminded we why I rarely use them anymore.
Parcel delayed, and it won't be delivered until I'm back at work, but DPD can't change the delivery address because Scan won't let them. When I finally get through to Scan I get "sorry there's nothing we can do", followed by the super helpful "how about we delay the delivery until your next day off?" which is a week from now. :wallbash:

Cadbury's creme eggs were much better back in the 60s and 70s…

It’s never just one issue is it? Everything seems to try and rip your world apart in one go.

Managed to get the ID sent away for my credit card application. The credit limit I got back was substantially higher than I expected, especially given a few years back even the worst of the lenders wouldn't accept me for cards sub £1k.

Unfortunately, It looks like my current credit card provider blocks balance transfers so the whole process was a complete waste of time and energy.

Ahhh well, just have to pay it off the old fashion way I suppose. Wasn't going to save loads but a saving is a saving nonetheless.

Handy to have a large credit limit available for apocalyptic disasters I suppose...

Does your new card have an offer for a money transfer rather than a balance transfer? If so, you could simply transfer an amount of money to your bank account to then pay off the older credit card balance. Effectively doing a balance transfer. I don't know if this affects your credit report in any way, but it is an option.

Assuming that you mean a cash advance, this is a *terrible* idea - cash advances are paid at a special, extra-high rate of interest and, aye, look terrible on a credit report.

some cards do have terrible terms but mine will advance like a loan rate over a fixed period that less than a third of the purchase rate.

That's a heck of a lot better than mine, where the cash advance rate is about twice the purchase rate...

That's why I specifically said if the card in question had a special offer. Mine is currently offering me 12 months at 0% interest, for example.

Edit: I think a money transfer might be different to a cash advance in the eyes of the Credit Overlords, but I'm not totally sure.

No promotion on that unfortunately :( I'll just have to hurl a bit more money than I planned at the current card balance to avoid some of the interest

Both the car and motorbike insurance were a couple of hundred extra this year. So that's another 2-4 years I'll be paying a hefty price for what was probably not even 20 seconds of panic... This one this year was totally my fault, but the last time I had to make a motor insurance claim it was not my fault... yet I still ended up paying the price for it for years to come.

Bleh, the whole car/vehicle insurance "industry" is a ****ing mess...
