Unexpected email from my solicitor about my nerve damage case.

"The defendant’s solicitor has emailed me this morning. They have a conference on your case with their barrister and medical expert on 24 February. They have apologised for the delay and will respond confirming their position after the meeting."

So, in a little over 4 weeks I should have a resolution to it, one way or the other, 6 years, 3 months, 17 days after that first operation. Well, I'll still have to take enough painkillers to make a healthy person a dribbling smack addict, and I will still have the constant imminent threat of severe pain looming over me, but this particular chapter will be done. Gonna be a nerve wrecking 4 weeks.

(Not so) Dear Talktalk. This is how you lose a customer: giving them the runaround about not being able to hook up a connection parallel to existing Virgin broadband at my new place

25.6.2019-3.2.2025 rip my customership at TT

    FTFY :thumb:

Honestly they're doing you a favour by forcing you to move, their reputation is atrocious.

Full fibre 500 was actually damn solid

Tbh I think it was a phone donkey trying to bag commission for snatching a virgin customer and BSing about having to yeet virgin from this house. Oddly I've been able to have TT, no difference copper vs fibre, alongside virgin in all the places I've lived in England until now

Laid up with man flu. Felt ropey on Sunday night, streaming cold, aches and congestion on and off.
Went to work Monday and yesterday, but worse today with a cough added.
Will have a go at WFH paperwork, but not firing on all cylinders TBH.
One updide, our antisocial cat has unusually been on the bed the last 2 nights. Seems to be in nurse mode.

Same here. The youngest brought something back from school and it's hit me like a tonne of tonne. Was off work for two days, and still feel extremely not with it but the to-do list is threatening to overflow so I'm back at it anyway.

Good luck GH, it is rough being self employed.
I'm technically an employee, but I'm the only one on the payroll...so sort of self employed
There's things I have managed to do online after a dose of paracetamol, but going on site isn't going to happen today. I feel irrationally cold indoors and got really cold working outdoors on Monday.

We're starting to tentatively look at houses—not because we're 100% ready, but to get an idea of what's available within our budget and where we might need to compromise. The problem is, by the time I've found one listing on Rightmove, my partner has already decided which side of the sink her toothbrush will go on and called every member of her family to share the pictures.

The reality is that we need more time to strengthen our finances. While she understands this, her excitement gets the better of her to the point where I don't think we can even logically window shop anymore.

I'm now looking like the bad guy putting on the breaks but the cold hard reality is we're not in the right place financially and we won't be for at least 6 more months.
