Modding What material would you really like to cover your PC in if you had the money???

Well, money of course! Imagine a case with hundred dollar bills wallpapered over it. It wouldn't be LAN party safe though, as one of your friends would knock you over the back of the head and take it.

Of course it would have to have some uber-preservative to keep it from becoming nasty and falling to bits, but it would still be awesome to say you had a case made of cheese...

 

I actually quite like the deep creamy colour of machined nylon...

So a case hewn from a solid nylon block

Rubber

A 5mm layer of perfectly smooth and flat black or dark red rubber. With nice right angled corners. So it's looks solid, but has a great squidgy feel to the touch.

 

Plasit

If I had all the money in the world then my pc would be plastic with TINY stamped on the front.

but then youd have a crap pc, and youd just as well be poor, cos you werent doing anything with your money :/

 

build a PC with its own petrol engine and wheels with some really advanced robotics to allow it to travel autonomously at 80 mph be great to get to LAN parties

i would have to say CARBON FIBER with intigrated OLCD displays in unusual shapes. have little peices of video or music visualiztions plaing over them. be cool.

or have it coverd in the OLCD with camaras on each side making it so it was OPTOFLAUGED (sp?) you know camo that shows whats behind it on each side. so its see through. cool

 

a PC made out of empty beer cans... think i might do that one

 

actuly i designed a case outa LCD Glass. you know that glass that becomes opaque (sp?) when you run a current through it. i had designed it with an aluminum superstructure and then there was a grid of 1/2" squares of the LCD glass covering each side. it was conected to a controler that would make the squares clear at random, or run patterns. iot was so cool. but i could find a place to get the glass, hell i couldnt even find prices. but you got to admit it would have been incredably sweet

borg cube can't remember what its made of or the shelding on voyager you know that like thick titanium armer plating that covered it in one of the episodes MMMMm you press a button then the hole thing just covvers its self in titanium armour oooo then its ready fotr the lan

or a case made for if i can spell it "naquider" its the stuff of stargaite sg1 the stuff they use to make there little generaters and bombs and stuff and the stargate its self

that would be cool

 

have a stargate in the front of your PC and have it going to an ice world permenantly then duct the winds to your cpu

 

how about dynomatted walls with ln2 flowign through it? silence.... (im thinkin at least 3 inches to be safe of noise)

 

My wish list

I'm think n' (just for sumthing different) like a hovering pad then like those star trek lighting and when the cd rom drives open it make the woosh noise the doors in the show made. yeah that'd be cool

 

actually i came up with a new material, even though i'd still like the flexible polymer....



the exotic material...

i.e. stephen hawking talks about it...


it is the material which repels gravity
