Hello valued bit-techians, I beesech thee, I am soon to be purchasing a Q6600 and a BFG 8800gts 512. Can anyone advise me on a motherboard around the £60 mark, socket 775 preferably with good over-clocking ability and a relatively up-to-date chipset that will last me a good 2 or so years. Cheers!

£60? its abit low but how about a Vanilla Asus P5k? or Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R?

A few pounds more than your budget but if its gonna last you two or so years than that extra monies will pay off no end.

you can pick up a pretty good p35 board for that, might not have loads of features, but will cover the basics, i bought a nforce 650i ultra for 65, thats not bad for ocing, but in prefence prob a p35 would last you longer in the the erm long run.

For that budget, I'd get a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. It's much cheaper than the DS3R, and isn't missing any interesting features. I've got one, and it's by far the best board I've ever owned - I can't imagine spending more, no matter what your demands were.

Id personally get the Asus P5N-E, because it has the 650i chipset, you will be able to buy another 8800gt when/if you get the money. Also it has the 1333fsb so will work with the new 45nm cores.
