Decals arrived this morning from China and oh wow they're good. took about 4 hours to apply 79 water decals but oh man it was worth it.

I think I'll be contacting this guy again when I pick up another PG

quick question for you modellers out there!

have been building up a tamiya ferrari enzo kit and i'm not happy with some bits i have done.

the problem is i've glued those bits on and now i want to take them off.

apart from cutting them off with a scalpel and then not having the right spikes(?) to locate them correctly, is there another way to do it? i've tried gently teasing them off, but i just end up snapping bits more slowly.

is there something that will help soften the gloue, or am i stuck!

    cheers

You'll have to cut it. If you've used Poly cement, you've technically welded/fused the plastic. Plus any solvents able to break down the "glue" would break down the plastic.

I'm assembling a Hawker Hurricane Mk1, oldschool balsa model. It should look like this when finished.

Nice to have this thread back. All my painting is on hold until the weather gets better and I can crack out the airbrush. I've nothing to do in the meantime. :(

All my model work - RC and display - is on hold until I can get back near the bench in my workshop :jawdrop:

I'm spring cleaning/throwing stuff at/out through the door this weekend! :dremel:

You just don't see many model shops now (I blame computers:D) when I was a kid we would look at the Tamiya catalogues at school.

There was one for plastic models and one for the rc cars.

Last plastic model I made and painted...

And I still have this rc car but mine has a tuned pipe.

Citadel, P3, Tamiya, Forge World, and a bit of everything else >.>

I'm currently working on a Tamiya VFR750R, no pics yet though.

Indeed! If I got one, which I now want as I really need a case of some sort, I'd buy more paint just to fill it.

I need one as large as that. I currently have just shy of 50 Tamiya 10ml pots, stored in the bottom of a two tier toolbox that I keep all my modelling tools, glue etc in. A case like that would be much more suitable!

It's actually part of the citadel paint set they did when hey first launched the new line of paints. It's pretty much just a large figure case that they sell.

I've crammed 200+ paints in it as well as brushes, mixing trays, sculpting tools, brush cleaner, thinners, files of various sizes and quality, pinning tools etc.

Tbh, I need a bigger case now, it's as full as I can get it, and I'm starting to have less faith in the plastic clips that hold it closed..
