So you can tell they all have the removable BIOS just by those photos? I thought it was just the pro that had uguru?
Dave, thanks for confirming that. That DFI board is way out of my price range too. I'd be really pushing it with the IP35 pro.
How about this DFI board? http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=787775 I can't find much on it on the internet, but it looks pretty good.
Yeah, I was looking at that, depending on when it comes in will depend upon whether I purchase it. I will give it a good research. edit: researched ... came to a quick conclusion to purchase it. Along with an E8400. Can't wait to start overclocking. Do you think the AC Freezer 7 Pro would be sufficient or should I go for the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme? With quite a considerable price difference would I really benefit from it!? I will probably order one when I get more money anyway but shall I shell out now?! I'm thinking yes, I have a spare fan but will order a couple of strong ones if/when I get the 120 extreme. (it may start making less and less sense as the night draws on ... I hate spending money so really want to get the best bang for my buck so to speak)
just to confirm that they all have removable BIOS chips. the Pro will squeeze a bit more out than the non-Pro but not much & in the vfm stakes the IP35 is definitely better value (esp. when SCAN stick it on Today Only at under £60). uGuru is by far the best hardware monitoring/fan control provided by any mobo mfr plus it also gives you the ability to do on the fly overclocking in Windows (& you can set up user profiles for this so that you could e.g. have an underclocked, quiet 1 for just browsing, a full oc, full fan rpm 1 for gaming etc. etc.). The Pro also gives you extra nice (but not necessary) features like on board power & reset switches, external clearCMOS switch, LED POST reporter, 2nd physical x16 slot for Crossfire or a PCI_E RAID card, 2nd LAN, 100% solid caps instead of just the most important ones.
SOLD! I spent a while looking at reviews and specs of the pro last night, it's certainly got some nice features. I particularly like the idea of an external switch for clearing the CMOS. BUFF, thanks for the info.
