incidentally, we have a mods article every month, not just occasionally.

I read the Australian edition of PC Gamer occationally, but I'm a subscriber to Atomic (Australian PC Mag with a heavy focus on modding).

Out of those, I read MaximumPC and PC Gamer.

I was looking at PC Extreme's subscription fees. I live in the US so I would have to get the World version.

    Its £77!!! That's about $130 USD!! :nono:

Last month, I paid $24 USD (£14} to renew MaximumPC for 12 months

The only one i've ever read that featured any modding was PC Answers, but most of them are just as bad as each other when it comes to hardware knowledge and the like so i dont generally bother.

I have been a longtime faithful of Maximum PC.

I would very much like to see Custom PC here in the US

i read custom pc and pc zone every month (pc zone dont do much mod-wise but i thought i'd mention it anyway)

custom pc is a nice read. the hardware knowledge is pretty good, i get such a shudder from reading crap like pc gamer (or 'pc lamer' as it is hilariously known by us long time pc 'groan' readers... geddit? gosh, my sides!)

some things in it are slightly retarded. like why the hell that "big blu" abomination was the featured mod.. it was a complete and utter POS. the latest one, a custom wood case, is alright - as was last months watercooled plexi effort. the big blu was just inexcusable though, and i will never forgive the judges.

    so, to re-iterate. "Custom PC."

    edit: just noticed post above...

PC Extreme all the way! It's a modder and overclocker magazine with additional hardware and game reviews, not the other way around. :D

Was better the first 6 months (i've been on sub since issue 1) as it had 2 (sometimes 3) cd's and was much thicker, its much thinner now and only 1 cd :(

Content is still top notch, this months included:
"Liquid Nitrogen Cooling" - really funny and ends in disaster!
"Make an LCD Screen Part 1" - wiring a £20 panel up to an lpt port :dremel:
"Record Net Radio to Hard Disk" - Rip .RAM streams etc to MP3 :cooldude:
"Make Movies with Unreal Tournament" - ok guide but i use fraps! :eyebrow:
"Wireless Entertainment Networking" - playing audio direct from PC to wireless audio devices! Wicked, but i'm waiting for wireless video! :naughty:

    Just my 2 pennysworth! :naughty:
