    Hi all,

    Wondered what PSU should I get for the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO motherboard, which will come with the following:

    * Intel Core i5 3570K,1155, Ivy Bridge
    * 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance
    * 128GB Samsung 830 Series, SSD
    * SATA 500GB HDD
    * ASUS HD 4850 512MB DDR3 (PCI-E)

    Have a budget of £35 or so, but can go up to £40 to 50 if needed. Need to be future proof as well so perhaps 500 to 600W?

    Thanks all.

    Will you be overclocking? Whatever you go for, make sure it's a decent brand - don't just look at the wattage :thumb:

    to be honest thats not really that much for a decent psu

    have a look for XFX (normally made by seasonic) or bequiet make excellent PSUs
    corsair but the builder series are not really that good

    I was told that the CPU I have is easily overclocked with this motherboard, so I might be in the future, but nothing as extreme overclocking. Just to gain some more Mhzs from the CPU.

    If you HAVE TO stay in your budget, get this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/430w...-bronze-eff-uncertified-quiet-fan-atx-v23-psu

    Its a quality PSU that will last you a while and you'll be able to stick a mid-range GPU in if needed. If you can extend £5 get the corsair 500w version (I currently have the 500w, and check my sig. Everything is overclocked substantially (inc GPU and memory which isn't shown, and its fine) with 3x HDD and 3 120mm Fans. The CPU is also power-hungry compared too IvyBridge as its older technology.

    You wont future-proof a PSU for £35 quid afraid. for £50-60 you could however as highlighted in posts above.

    Looks like the be quiet! PSU is good, based on many reviews/feedbacks. Hunting for good price...

    Be careful about Be Quiet! reviews, they have so many versions of the same wattage PSU, each one different - like P8, P10 etc.

    The P10 series is the bees knees though expensive.

    I'm not sure myself lol, it's just most sites that review them are so ambiguous you can't tell except after looking for the minute details in the reviews.

    You just need to keep an eye out for a letter and a number dotted about, like L7, P8, etc. One sec I'll just check Scan, which one did you order?

    Edit: if it's the one linked above that's the S6! Give it a go and see how quiet it is when it arrives, keep us updated :thumb:
