i carnt seem to get hold of a PSU that has a 8 pin PCI-E connecter... its going to be for the 9800GX2 and it needs a 6+8pin to power it! any ideas!? Thx
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=603580 i was thinking off getting this one..... has two 8pin PCI-E connecters and two 6 pin
That looks kinda overpowered, but if you need it, get one. And this time I'll not start yelling out "that is not good" before reading some reviews...
Waste of money in my opinion... Go for the Corsair air range. If for some bizarre reason you think 520 watts isn't enough, get the 620.
none of the Corsair PSU you guys have sed has an PCI-E 8pin there for there no good. So Corsair wont be supporting the 9800GX2 anytime soon
what bit of didnt you read then.... im guessing the 5th line down must have been in white text or something when you read it huh? take a peek at the tech specs section - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=603580
So wait, you need an 8 pin for 9800Gx2? Well, its an excuse to get rid of mah rosewill. you guys dont seem to like that power supply...
You shouldn't need an excuse to get rid of a Roswell PSU Yes, I've been told it requires an 8-pin + 6-pin.
Well, thats wrong for a start. The earlier versions of the Corsairs don't have 8 pin PCI-E. But, the later version do. I have a HX520 and that has 2 PCI-E 6+2 Pin connectors. In other words, a standard PCI-E 6 pin connector, with an additional 2 pin connector that slides down the side of it.
6pin to 8pin adapter, works on my hd2900xt perfectly fine http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6..._Adapter_Cable.html?tl=g11c28s427&id=wv5fCFb6 you prolly can find them cheaper
Yes i do. Everythings plugged in and working, and i dont want it to not work if it goes south. I dont have a backup computer, both of them broke...
