hey my psu blew today! .......i plugged in my ipod and itunes froze a couple of times so i rebooted,well it hung at the boot screen then just went off........... so i left it a few mins and switched back on but nothing only the light on the keyboard comes on so there is some power there......... also my ipod has gone on one!.........the screen is still lit and it says "do not disconnect" and its frozen and thats 6 hours after the event! so either my ipod has ruined the psu in the computer or the other way round! so i was wondering what new psu should i get for my computer! i have a athlon 3800 x2 asus a8n-sli premium mb the power supply thats blown is a antec truepower 2.0 550w i know its gone because the control panel that fits above the dvd is not lit yet the backlight on my keyboard is lit! so does any one have any decent suggestions for a new psu and also any ideas how to get my ipod going again ive only had it a few weeks and the psu 9 months! any help would be appreciated!
What gfx card? If you're not running sli/crossfire then any 450-500W supply will be more than adequate for an overclocked system. Look at Tagan, Seasonic, FSP, Enermax brands as they are all very good. The antec should come under warrenty though and they have a great rep so yours might just be an isolated incident.
