^^ My DVD collection of mostly anime series. :) Will edit this post after ive eaten..

    Edit: *burp* :)

Anyhoo - Cowboy Bebop - top top anime series. If you havent already watched it - do so, its the best anime out there imo. Best animation, great character development. Better in jap voice and english sub than english voice as with anything. Music and intro are superb. DVD box set has a nice "full length animated music video" of the intro.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - superb series, but spoilt by the movies unfortunatly imo, however other die hard anime fans will disagree. Kind of mecha-human but goes a lot deeper. Its funny in parts, but also has superb character development. The fight scenes take a little while to get used to though, and you're chucked in half way thru, but stick with it cause the overall story and history unfolds throughout the entire series. You dont learn what the "angels" actually are until something like episode 20 onwards! "The first child", Rei Ayanami is my av ;)

edit3: just realised what "NGE" means in ur post ^^ :duh:

Trigun - havent watched yet but its a 3 disk series
Gundam Wing - 6 disk DVD series, 49 episodes, 1252 minutes ive still yet to watch too.

Ghost in the shell - stand alone complex: Another superb, must see series. As good as cowboy bebop but the series is slow to come to DVD. Currently 5 english subbed ones have been released however i only own 4 of which and the fansubs on the internet are better but its good to have both to get an "average" translation imo. Bandai have stopped people making fansubs now although there has been a massive internet outcry from non-japanese speakers who rely on it to get their fix before buying the DVDs when they come avaliable. The episode intro has the best music (along with bebop) out there. Sort of techno-classic, but they pull it off REALLY well. Im trying to get the soundtrack but have not found anywhere that sells it yet.

Hellsing - A good vampire series. Overly british, but its funny to see how the japs see english culture in some respect. Good animation and decent story however the ending is kind of a let down cause u expect more. 2 disk DVD set of 13 episodes. The DVD menu system is also the best ive used, it looks great and is amazingly fluid.

Patlabor - Mecha - human series, like gundam wing and evangelion. The series is pretty poor but the movie (disk 2) is better imo. Kinda average compared to the above.

Appleseed - cant believe i paid money for it :grr: its crap, dont bother. Not a series either

Perfect Blue - Very good movie, cant really explain it without giving it away but its defo worth a watch.

Animatrix - worth watching also if you like the matrix series. Even if u thought the 2nd movie was average its worth seeing just to fill the gaps of the main story (like the game), and the final flight of the osiris has FANTASTIC animation, be it not anime though.

Akira - classic movie, have to watch it a couple of times though i found.

Escaflowe - not seen this yet but i have it somewhere around. Meant to be really good although i watched half an episode and wasnt too impressed.

Initial D - Kinda japan rice boy animation about school kids and their suped up toyotas. Really didnt like it.

The disk at the very top is fist of the northern star. Another movie, very funny fight scenes abeit crappy story. Ultra gorey in a funny sort of way heh.

Cant think what else ive seen off the top of my head. Ill edit the post if i come up with something more.

edit2: borrowed macross plus off a m8 a while back. Its a good aeroplane fighter pilot series. The movie is naff cause its the series but without being digitally redone (well the disks i watched it off looked so). Good music, a bit trippy in parts but worth watching even though its only 4 episodes.

    edit4: www.anime-city.co.uk :) /me winks to the forums

Not so, ive just got a lot of disks lent to friends at the moment that's all. If its good, then ill buy it. If it isnt, then i wont. Simple. :)

Everything shown there is legitimate disk-age.

Edit: Oh you mean the empty cake boxes.. uhh.. well.. they are a collection of the familys. I tend to keep everything *just in case* ;)

I would recommend Cowboy Bebop before Trigun, don't get me wrong I love Trigun just I think Bebop is a bit better.

Also FLCL is a great Anime to see also it only has 6 episodes also but it is good enough to watch a few times

and Serial Experaments Lain is also a great series

Blue Gender is an another great series to watch

(lets just say its a mix of cg and anime and its got lots of airships :p )

Lain is supposed to be a major head f**k (more so than the last eps of nge) bar that i know very little :)

    EDIT:
    Lain: http://www.animeacademy.com/library/lain/lain.html

    http://www.animenfo.com/
    &
    http://www.animeacademy.com

are my main source of review...

PS: I hadnt realised GITS:SAC had been licensed by bandai? If it is indeed bandai then the fansubbers are screwed they made them pull all the gundam seed eps or threatened law suits!

Serial Experaments Lain: Is mainly about 1 school girl who knows nothing about the "Wired" which then progresses to her finding out she has 2 personalities and a battle between what is and what might become ensues. Thats sorta how it goes but you have to watch it to understand more great series.

Blue Gender: This is really good series. I man is diagnosed with an illness that is incureable and he is given a choice to be put into cryogenic sleep for a few years. He then wakes up 20 years later only to find out that the world is being taken over by the "Blue" a bug like creature that eats everything even humans. The first dozen episodes are Yugie, the sleeper, and a compainion trying to get off the earth to a space station which is humanitities last hope. Thats as far into the series I can go but I can say a lot of action and a lot of bug guts makes it a greate anume :)
