Thought this'd be an interesting thread. What things do you own, that you've had signed? And how did you get said item signed? etc etc For me, I saw The Cooper Temple Clause for free at a random music event in up north. Got the album during the day before hand, and they were awesome live - this was back in the days of when they weren't that big, so they just walked off stage, I followed and met Tom. And Voila, Signed Album Next thing, was when I saw Pitchshifter I few years ago in Wolves, we got there fairly early, and just decided to hang out the side entrance for a bit, and randomly JS Clayden walks out, couldn't miss this chance! Signed ticket! Woo! Was amazing, and the gig was just as good too! So, your stories etc? I want to see pics!
I've got The Discworld Companion, bought when it was released and signed and stamped by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs. I also have Jingo! bought when released and signed by Terry, together with a signed copy of Small Gods. My wife won a GMTV t-shirt signed by all the presenters at the time.
2 pieces of paper - 1 with jimmy carrs autograph and 1 with alan rickmans autograph (yes, i met him - best. day. ever!).
What I'd like to know is. Do you fans carry around those black felt pens? Or do celebrities supply them for you?
I have a pot that was on my leg which is signed by lee chapman (leeds footballer) Personally, i have no interest and would have thrown the disgusting thing away... but apparently it has sentimental value to my mum...
Lets see, Cal Ripken Jr. signed baseball Nolan Ryan signed baseball Kyle Petty signed hotwheels hat and mellow yellow car Al Unser Jr. signed framed Valvoline poster Signed Chevelle poster On the way to get the lil Al autograph, I was doing about 90 mph in a 55 all the way just to get there in time before he left. I was also lucky enough, that an older gentleman from church new Al personally, so I got to skip the entire line .
When I was young (5 maybe), Steve Martin was filming Roxanne in my home town. I went to get his autograph but all I had with me was some wax paper... haha. He eventually got the ink to flow. I am a HUGE Kids In The Hall fan and have seen them live twice. I got the guys to sign my copy of Brain Candy, when hanging out with them out back. Just a few weeks ago, Scott Thompson from KITH stopped by in our town for a tour performance. I got him to sign the ticket. I am not really one for getting autographs, as it kind of ruins the moment.
Just a Feeder ticket signed by Mark Richardson, the drummer. When I saw them in Cardiff last December he was at the Oxfam stand and I got him to sign it. Truth be told, I don't even know where it is. Not a massive fan of the band so I'm not too upset. Sam
My brother and I got most of the movies made by George A Romero (Night of the Living Dead etc.) signed by him at a film festival in Austin. We brought our copies of the movies and waited in line. Nothing terribly special but he did sit and talk with us for a bit. He even missed his flight so that he could spend more time with his fans. Great guy. oh, and I think I have a signed anniversary edition comic book. Don't remember what it is though. Stuck in a closet back at home. There may be more stuff, but I really don't remember right now.
I have three signed drum skins; Poison the Well, Atreyu and From Autumn to Ashes. My most prized signed thing however is my signed Library card by Andrea from Pretty Girls Make Graves < 3 Hotness.
I got a couple of vinyl's signed by the producers. My favourite is "Pleasure from the Bass" signed by Tiga! And i have a whole book full of athletes when the World championship was in Frankfurt. I was like 10 years old or som
Not too big a fan of signed goodies, but I got to serve drinks to the Red Hot Chili Peppers backstage at one of their gigs along with Radiohead, (must be fans) and Mischa Barton. I think my boss would of fired me if I asked for an autograph. Meh got a pic with Antony Kiedis by a papper so I am out there somewhere...
