Modding What size rivets!

Just treated myself to a rivet gun! Oh the excitement!

Now, I need to get some rivets, before I order, is there a standard size for case rivets or what?

Ok will do! And my second question - what is the name of the type of lock used on on Army Ammo boxes? I want to use it on a case door.

I believe you might be looking for an old style bailed latch

 

There's some size of rivets around. To make sure just bought a pack of 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm on your nearby market. They are less than a dollar for a pack.

I use rivets but i forgot their size for case. And depends on your drill hole, you can use smaller of bigger rivet nail.

Yeah, I'll just pick up a few different sizes to try out.

 

I used a 3.5mm bit to drill out my rivets - but I'm not sure if rivets are sized by the stem or collar.

 

You might find the latches in hardware sites like Rockler.
