Yip... ...sorry...not into cricket anyway...BORING Mind u did like when we all stood up at work and applauded when they hit 300-1...the Englishman in the office did not appreciate it
Yes. Well, the large Indian populatation here in North Dallas do It's not a big sport, and not many people are into it, mainly expats like myself and indian/pakistani immigrants.
It's pretty hard to explain how un popular it is. It does have fairly interesting rules and stages of play. I mean football is just kicking a ball into a net. How simple can you get? Bar 'It' I don't think there is a simpler game.
Points at rK@NE. Laughs. No, sorry, I don't have a clue about cricket. Is it anything like that Harry Potter game where the dudes fly around on brooms? 'cause that would be awesome.
It's certainly a minority sport up here, although I do have a local side. I think the Scottish national side play/lose against English counties in some league/tournament or other? Oh and something that's intrigued me about cricket.. what's the importance of the captain? there's always a really big deal in the media about the guy quitting or the next appointment. In football its meant to just be the guy who sorta shouts the most.. more responsibility in cricket?
I like watching and playin cricket my brothers a groundsman at Trent bridge (nottingham cricket ground)
Bah, cricket sucks Sorry, but I never could understand cricket with all it's silly rules & positions... Just give me 15 men running up and down a pitch mauling & mangling each other to get an oval ball across the line (BTW, I mean rugby )
I think the team captain is just there to take the flak from the press when the team lose IMHO cricket is the second most boring sport after golf to watch on TV. (goes off to watch F1 qualifying.....) Cheers
Have to confess to being really into cricket at the moment. Am frankly appauled at Englands awful show this test match. I mean come on South Africa have just proved it isnt a bad pitch to bat on so why do they keep yo yoing in form so badly. BTW anyone who is watching have you seen Paul Adams bowling style, how the heck does he see where he is throwing it!!
The captain is more involved in the running of team. He sits on the board of selectors, has to make decisions about tatics on the day, when to delclare etc. England are doing very badly at the moment (even worse than usual). Basically both their bowling and batting has sucked. I think they need to move the order around a bit and try new things. Bit-widow - Paul Adams has always bowled like that. Originally they looked into to see whether his method was actually legal.
Have seen Paul Adams bowl like that before just wondering if anyone else had only just noticed it. I knew there was someone with a weird action called adams i just couldn't remember what team he played for! Strange thing is though they haven't really used him that much in this test, don;t know why with England in this kind of form i could bowl them out!!
OMG did you see Tescrothick's duck come fluke 4? Maybe the team should go for more ducks. Adams may now have bowled much but he has caught four people out so far in this test alone.
"cricket? you've gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!" /raph i've watched cricket a little bit over the course of my life...have no idea how the game works, but it's interesting to watch anyways.
yep, ive recently been getting a bit more into cricket. Its always been one of my fave sports. Its a great game. tho im a bit of a philistine and prefer one day games to test matches. Order of fathazza's fave sports (to watch) :- 1. Rugby (union -not ur poncy league crap) 2. Cricket 3. Football 4. Ice Hockey
