Well, summer is finally here and most of my friends are out working. I applied for Pizza-Hut, but they told me to come back in August because they have to many of my age group already working there. I was wondering if any of you guys have any good ideas to make money. I was thinking something involving computers. Have any of you had any success building and selling computers? If I was to have any success in building and selling computers I think I will make a pretty decent profit. All of my friends are buying new things for their computers with all the money they make and I wish I could do the same. Anyway if any of you guys have any good ideas please share.

Go find a small store in your town, I work at a baker starting at 5AM till 12 Noon leaving my afternoons free. With no experiance I get paid 7 an hour. The small stores are the better ones, because they aren't part of a giant corporation that has strict rules. On the computer idea, Ive built a few for family members, and the biggest thing on building brand new computers is the warranty. Its better to repair them then build them in my opinion.

Well I have worked a multitude of jobs (im only 17, get bored easy!) and I would have to say that working for a corporation is the best and worst thing you can do. I would try a place like Walgreens. I worked for a small pc business for over a year, worked for movie theatre, a bus boy, and Walgreens :D.
Im currently applying for a postition at a Sheriffs office interning with their techs. Just whatever you do, get all the wage promises in writing. If the emplyer says raise every x months, you start at x amount, yadda yadda, get it in writing. You only have to get screwed once to remember that

at our age, if you wanna get into building computers and that, best to work for a small company, that will appreciate your knowledge and will let you work freely...cause once you know the ropes of a selling pc enviroment you can start working for the big boys....

You can resort to drug dealing?

I hear they have great health benefits. Jusk KIDDING!!!:D :D :hehe: :hehe: :p

Eh! You may want to seek for a computer store and apply for a job there. Even if it's a stock boy job, money is money at the moment. Something that gives you income, or even working at a cafe?

do what i do when im a bit short, buy a 2nd ahnd pc from freeads (a paper where people advertise 2nd hand equiptment) & simply re-format & reisntall (make sure you get the disks, saves you having to pay for more licences) then do a general tidy, spray the case, make it look better than it did & advertise it for say £200 than you bought it for & it will sell when people see it (doing this also gives you the benefit of buying broken equiptmetn & salvagng parts for othermachines, therefore making them more valuable when you sell them :D)
just an idea, why not just customise some cases & sell them to people or sell them to a small computer shop, that will help there business as people will buy a flashy pc & they may help you out if your lucky

I mow lawns, and hire myself out as general labor. I just made about $170 doing landscaping for a neighbor!

I have thought about starting a computer busness, but never got as far as trying it. It would be a great way to earn money, but in order to keep your prices low, you wouldn't earn much.

I'm sorry, but I don't undertand that refrance.

I make good money, and still have oodles of time for computers and stuff, although lately, stuff has been taking most of my time (as x24 knows well ;) )

Well you can make money doing 'favours for sailors'..........

But a job at a local computer firm would be preferable! :)

Go for a shop you will enjoy working in, job satisfaction is more important than the cash. I am a Part-time worker for Maplin's but would not work there for the Pittance they pay if I didn't like the job and enjoy the company.
