Can't disagree with too much which has been said here, especially on the ab front. Spot targetting your abs will do nothing but get you good abs under fat.. might help in the long run, but TBH you want rid of the fat. Other advice I'd give is to drink WATER and lots of it.. in fact, if you can stomach it, just drink water instead of anything else. I drink probably 5-8 pints a day and noticed a dramatic change in weight (and more importantly, my wellbeing) simply from doing that. If you want some inspiration, check out www.johnstonefitness.com , he's the guy who started me on my weightloss track. Even if you can't do it as rigourously as he did (myself included, I don't look like him ) you can a) see what someone can achieve with the right willpower and b) get a load of good advice.
Can't say much more then what has been stated. However even though you might not lose any fat in the guy area you build muscle there which feels good. Running, or even walking are still one of the best excersises ever. They help build your heart up and what not. Swiming works out lots of muscles at once. And with 1 gallon of water=8.5lbs(i think) Thats alot of work for being fairly easy. The easiest way Try to do laps about 3-4 times a week, set a lower number then raise it higher. Try walking or running or jogginh and sit ups and push ups daily, if you can also try pull ups just for good excersise. Try to always keep active during the day. For diet. Fat people lose more weight if they practice portion control. Now jump in if im off track, With the balance thing, Lets see I eat 1 or 2 times a aday. But Those 2 meals are horrid in the healthy department and usually put me over the 2000 calorie a day plan. So Reform it to take in 5-6 meals which total at 1800-2000 calories. The more you eat the more your body has to metabolize the food and therefore ups the metabolism. When you combine excersise with this, The body starts to burn the fat to keep up with the body. Simple Rules: No Soda (Empty Calories) No Junk Food (If it is a snack you don't find from the produce section then stay away.) No Candy (Just stay away from sweets after a while you learn to live without.) Try not to eat the 3 hours before you go to bed. Don't eat after 7 or 8 is a good bet. Do something Daily, situps, pushups, running, jogging, whatever you can but just make sure the body is active each day. If you work out SLEEP! Go to Bed at 10 or 11, if you need to wake up at 6 got to bed at 10 if 7, 11 If 5 go to bed at 9. Sleep restores your body and makes it easier for your mind and body to adjust to the changes. Like KNA Said WATER WATER WATER. Your body doesn't really need anything else in the Liquid department. Try Vitamins. Not weightloss crap, but Vitamins, C,B-12,Zinc,Iron,MSM. They really make you feel better if you take them all.
i dont think its really a "weight" problem for me. Kids my age, same hieght actually weigh a lot, going into the 150's. I weigh about 120 now, which isnt alot for a kid as tall as me. thanks everyone for the info, im gonna figuire out everything with the information you've given me, as for the vitamins, what do i take?
just do everything twice . e.g., you want to go switch on the TV... go to the Tv, switch it on, walk back to couch. then walk to tv again (don't do anything with the tv) and walk back again, sit down, watch tv. double the exercise!
Depends on ewhat your not getting for vitamins. I can't really say I can help you there. Also, as far as sleep goes, in another course I took when I was your age, we were told that people my age "at that time" need around 9 to 12 hours of sleep. Was a good excuse to sleep in in the morning But thats more for growth than wieght loss and what not. Yeah, your weight sounds about right (I think) I weigh about 150 ish now. +-10 lbs due to the scale being inacurate.
Think the only reason I have a huuuuuge gut is all the beer but I like having a shed to keep my tools in
I started to get a small gut, from too much beer - soon got rid of it like this: I always cycle to work now rather than driving. I stopped eating so many biscuits and crisps. I eat more fruit. Exercise is the main thing though I reckon.
LOL Seriously though, a healthy(-ish), balanced diet and a bit of exercise now and again should see you right. If you still have a belly when you're eating a healthy and balanced diet then you're going to be fat whatever, unless you fancy sticking to a seriously harsh diet for the rest of your days. That's it really tbh.
SPORTS. It seriously is not that hard it's either sports or exercise, I dunno why there are so many people in the world that are obese or fat and are like I'm gonna die I can't go on a diet, point is you don't just do something everything, get proactive!!! (btw not aiming this at you fg0d). I play rugby, it's good for stamina and strength I guess, just do SOMETHING, like swimming and good luck
mslcs, that sounds about right, i think. 6' 3" isnt that big tho, im pushing on 6. what Dad(wierd calling you "dad") said is bout right, kids my age are weighing more, but there is no gut. I think that height somehow balances that out... -blan
i personally think size is overrated. if you feel good about yourself and aren't completly unfit then you should be fine. personally, im 18 stone and 5'11". i still manage to outlast 50% of the lads at work loading out, mixing, digging, concreting etc. yeah i may be a lil tubby but im fit with it. (unlike my sister who cant run 50 yrds without killing herself)
I'm writing this reply without reading previous posts, so forgive me for repeating anything. I think the biggest problem you have is not eating in the morning. From what I understand, eating a healthy breakfast gets your metabolism running quicker, therefore foods are digested quicker and more efficiently, and you don't gain so much fat. Try eating a healthy breakfast in the morning everyday for a month and see what happens. I ALWAYS eat breakfast in the morning. If I don't, I go crazy.
malcs, you must be one of those tall skinny british types. myself, im 5' 10" and around 240lbs, and ive been told i look around 200. personally, i agree with ToM on this one. i carry it well because im broad shouldered and relatively muscular, im not totally sedentary. i go to a school with 3 buildings, one having 3 floors, one having 2 floors, and a one floor, so i get a fair amount of excersize, and on top of that, i bike ride around my very hilly neighborhood. its not too uncommon for teenagers to be up around 200 lbs these days. ive got a good number of friends who are built like me. [edit] i also watch what i eat to a degree and drink alot of water (but i wont refuse a diet coke )[/edit]
Oh wow. I weigh in at 175lb and im 6 1". The thing that can help you loose wight as well as earn some cash is to take a part time job at a local supermarket and load and unload shipment there. It actualy worked for me. Its gr8 execise. Also you should stick away from carbs and intake protein more. Dont cut out carbs completly tho as thats dangerus. Just rebalance the carb/protein intakes. Eat meat thats been grilled, and start eating healthier. And situps cant hurt either. Hope that helps. -Good Luck
I think one of the things that could help the most would be to eat only what you want to eat, when you are hungry. I don't mean starve yourself, but I used to over-eat just about every meal. Once the food doesn't taste as good as it initally did, stop eating. Lost about 20lbs in a week because I had a jaw surgery, and I certainly didn't over eat after that. Also say: "Mom, I like your food, but I it's making me fat." While, maybe not exactly like that but something along those lines. L J
150...175 no one in my school that is 13 waighs that much heck I only way 110 pounds and I'm 5'4". 8 hours I herd. And I dont know who said eating before going to bed is bad,but they should have done there research new studies show eating before going to bed doesnt affect a thing. Now for the wierd part.If I were to eat pur lard or enything I wouldnt gain a pound.I have a super reactive motabalism(I hope that is all it is) and I'm thin and fit I have a bowl of ice cream every night and I'm still thin as ever and during thanksgiving I ate a plate full of everything still didnt gain a thing . Now I think the only reasin im 110 and not 90 is because of muscle(dam whats wrong with me your to fat I'm to thin.)
Personally, i weigh 14 stone and i'm just over 6ft tall, yeah i'm a fat sod, but i'm doing something about it. I've been chubby all my life, but never really bothered about it, recently I've noticed that my clothes are getting beyond the joke size wise, i did wear 40" waist jeans at one point, So, about 3 weeks ago i sat down and thought about what i could do to stop this in it's tracks before it gets out of control, I've heard it's easier to sort out when your younger, so i started riding to work (20 mins there downhill, 30 mins back all uphill) eating breakfast, dinner and tea ONLY (no snacks and no fried stuff) and walking everywhere instead of getting the bus, even if it takes forever, drinking plenty of water and generally watching less TV. I started that about 3 and a half weeks ago and i've already shed just over a whole stone so i'm well on my way, it's also doing my lungs the world of good aswell, yeah i still smoke, but i don't cough half as much as i used to now, and all the phlemmy gunge has disappeared (quitting fags is the next thing on the list) Anyway, just telling you it can be done more than anything else, you just need to get off your **** lol
